Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Disis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lachlan Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Disis comes to the cage accompanied by Polly Jean Harvey - Angry Johnny. Anderson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by ready to Roll, The Black Dahlias. Lachlan Anderson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lachlan Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Disis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Disis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anderson but Anderson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Disis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Disis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Disis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Disis is looking to work some ground and pound but Anderson has wrist control.

Disis drops back, looking for a kneebar! Anderson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Anderson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Anderson!
Disis tries to buck Anderson off but Anderson is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anderson cracks Disis with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Disis looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Disis wants to pass the guard but Anderson is keeping the position.
Disis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Disis throwing strikes from guard but Anderson blocks nicely.

Disis throws a strike but Anderson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Disis has his hands on Anderson's head, controlling the position.
Disis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Disis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Anderson tries to kick Disis off but Disis keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Disis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Disis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Disis wants to advance to full mount but Anderson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Disis throws a strike but Anderson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Anderson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Disis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Disis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Disis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Anderson tries to avoid it but Disis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Anderson to the ground. Anderson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Johnny Disis will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Disis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Anderson as he avoids it easily.
Anderson is looking to clinch.
Anderson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Anderson counters with a straight right hand.
Disis takes a jab right on the kisser.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anderson throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Disis closes the distance but Anderson moves to the side
and Anderson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Disis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Anderson can pounce on him.
Anderson lands with a nice combination. Disis backs away looking to recover.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Anderson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Anderson.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Disis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Disis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Anderson gets back to half guard.
Disis throws a strike but Anderson avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Anderson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Disis wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving.

and Anderson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Lachlan Anderson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Anderson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Disis looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Anderson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Disis's sensitive parts.
Anderson misses with a series of wild punches.
Anderson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Disis backs up against the cage.
An inside leg kick lands from Anderson.

Anderson throws a right and a left that both miss.

Lachlan Anderson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Anderson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
