Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bishop Roy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Smith has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bishop Roy! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Smith to score an easy takedown into full guard. Roy wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Smith working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Smith missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith wants to control from the top but Roy keeps moving. Roy pushes Smith off and scrambles back to his feet.
Roy feints and as Smith raises his hands in defense, Roy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Smith preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Smith looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Smith is breathing heavily. Roy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Roy throws a big right hand that misses. Roy scoring with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roy postures up.
Roy postures up in Smith's guard and throws a big left but Smith blocks it. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Roy landing some decent shots from guard. Smith is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Roy distracts Smith with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Roy throws a strike but Smith rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Roy pushes Smith off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith moves in looking to clinch but Roy pushes him off. Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Roy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Roy throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease. Roy throws a wild body kick that Smith sees coming a mile off. Smith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Roy! Roy holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Smith tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Roy looks a forlorn figure.

Poor strikes thrown by Smith there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Smith will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Smith looks to land a combination but Roy avoids it well. Smith throws a leg kick but Roy moved away. Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roy sprawls well. Roy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet. Roy misses with a takedown attempt and Smith counters with a lovely shot to the body. Roy has his takedown stuffed and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard. Roy wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Roy keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Roy works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Roy is proving hard to escape from. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Roy is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Roy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Smith sitting in guard here, content to control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Roy circles away quickly and effectively. Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smith attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Roy fails to pull the fight into his guard.
John Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bishop Roy. Roy is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Smith gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Smith wants to get back to striking at distance but Roy won't allow it.
Smith pulls guard successfully.
Smith pulls Roy in close to his closed guard and prevents Roy from doing any damage or advancing position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith gets to his feet. Roy looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Smith tries for a takedown but Roy circles away easily and Roy counters with a shoot takedown. Smith fights it but they end up in guard. Roy postures up.
Smith looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Roy is working Smith over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Roy landing some decent shots from guard. Smith has momentary wrist control but Roy slips an elbow through the middle. Smith wants to sweep but no luck. John Smith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Roy's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Smith dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Roy throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Roy with a lazy takedown attempt so Smith counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Smith loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Smith gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Roy scores with a takedown into Smith's guard. Smith has a closed guard, preventing Roy from standing up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Roy with a nice head shot there. Roy working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Smith's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Roy postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Roy keeps the fight on the outside. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Roy - that will leave a mark!
Smith with a poor takedown and Roy counters with a single leg into guard. Smith didn't expect that. Smith pushes Roy off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Roy, as that shot connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Roy counters with a shoot takedown. Smith fights it but they end up in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Roy stands and steps away. Smith gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Smith is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Roy is looking to get back to is feet but Smith passes into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Roy is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Smith has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Smith in side control, throwing shots but Roy defends. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roy can do anything to dispel that myth. Smith is looking to take a break and control but Roy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Smith is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Roy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bishop Roy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! John Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Smith trying to control the position but Roy is working away.
And that's the end of the fight! Bishop Roy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Smith has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
