Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lionel Diarra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Rogers has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Lionel Diarra's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diarra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rogers but Rogers pushes him off and we're back to square one.
No joy there for Rogers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Rogers instigates a clinch.

Rogers has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Diarra is trying to keep an underhook but Rogers manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Rogers throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Rogers wants to control but Diarra is keeping him busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rogers looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Diarra is trying to control but can't.

Rogers is working for a kimura but Diarra is defending it quite comfortably.
Diarra has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rogers is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Rogers is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Diarra has managed to free his arm - good work.

Rogers is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Diarra is just riding it out for now. Rogers eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rogers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Diarra's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Diarra's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Diarra looks to clinch
and Rogers counters with a nice leg kick.
Rogers circles away from the clinch attempt.
Diarra gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Rogers counters by moving into the clinch.

Rogers manages to break the clinch.

Diarra shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rogers counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Diarra misses the target.

Rogers fails with a takedown attempt.
Rogers circles away from the clinch attempt

and Rogers counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Diarra's guard now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rogers trying to control but Diarra is working from the bottom.

Rogers is pushing down on Diarra's leg trying to pass to half guard. Diarra is fighting to maintain full guard but Rogers has managed to sneak the leg through.

Rogers is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Rogers drops back looking for a leg! Diarra is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Diarra manages to kick Rogers off! Rogers jumps back into Diarra's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Diarra scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Diarra darts in trying to clinch

and Rogers counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Diarra is defending against the submission attempts here by Rogers.
Steve Rogers has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Steve Rogers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Diarra with a lazy takedown attempt

so Rogers counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Rogers stands and steps away. Diarra gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Rogers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Diarra looks to land a combination but Rogers avoids it well.
Rogers tries to clinch but Diarra moves out of range.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Diarra doesn't manage to clinch there - Rogers circles away.
Diarra takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Lionel Diarra is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A combination from Rogers does no damage.

Diarra misses with a takedown

and Rogers counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Rogers decides to pull guard.

Rogers has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Diarra should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Rogers has tightened it up now! Diarra should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
