Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Veloso I (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Johnson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Veloso I!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson scores with a decent looking hook.
Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Veloso I circles away quickly and effectively.
Johnson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Veloso I momentarily.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johnson misses with a wild body shot.
Veloso I fails in his attempt to clinch.
Veloso I lands a left and a right that send Johnson crashing to the mat, dazed. Veloso I thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Johnson is rocked!
It looks like Jay Johnson has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Veloso I throws a left and a right that both miss
and Johnson counters with a straight right hand.
Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Veloso I finish him?
A combination from Veloso I does no damage.
Veloso I fails to land with a series of punches.
Johnson seems to have recovered his senses.
Douglas Veloso I seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Veloso I throws a nice looking combination but Johnson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Veloso I drops Johnson with a beautiful combination! Johnson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Veloso I is looking for the KO!
Johnson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Veloso I misses with a few strikes there.
Johnson connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Veloso I misses with a few strikes there.
Johnson lands an overhand right.
Veloso I gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Johnson drops Veloso I with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Veloso I looks back up at him and smiles so Johnson waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Veloso I is rocked!
Veloso I rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Veloso I is breathing heavily.
Veloso I clinches but Johnson breaks the clinch
and Johnson counters with a crisp right that sends Veloso I to the canvas! Johnson follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Johnson!
