Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Martin Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jens Culver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Culver misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Newman lands a decent elbow from side control.
Culver has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Culver wants to get back to his feet.
Newman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Culver pushes Newman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Newman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Newman tries to advance to mount but can't.
Culver takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Newman scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Culver to see if he's OK.
Culver is rocked!
Newman is working Culver over with some ground and pound from side control.
Culver is still in real trouble! Can Newman finish him?
Newman lands a strong strike to the head of Culver. That's dazed him! Newman looking to finish here. Culver is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Newman lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
