Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Collin Waslsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Oxbig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Oxbig is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Collin Waslsh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Oxbig! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Waslsh scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Oxbig can do anything to dispel that myth. Oxbig wants to control but Waslsh passes into side.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Waslsh takes a little break here. Oxbig wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Waslsh wants to control but Oxbig is keeping him busy. Waslsh stands up and beckons Oxbig to his feet. Oxbig misses with a takedown attempt and Waslsh counters with a takedown into side control. Oxbig looks gassed! Oxbig is not content to let Waslsh control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oxbig trying to remain calm as Waslsh controls from the top position. Waslsh thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Waslsh working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Waslsh is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Waslsh has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Collin Waslsh just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Waslsh darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Oxbig trying to control from the bottom.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Oxbig is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Oxbig is trying to stand back up but Waslsh is controlling him

That's four minutes gone in the round. Waslsh shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Waslsh showed some decent athleticism there. Waslsh is looking to advance position but Oxbig won't allow it. Waslsh keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Collin Waslsh dominated that round. That's time! Waslsh's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Waslsh closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Waslsh lands in his opponent's guard. Waslsh is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Oxbig is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Waslsh wants to control from the top but Oxbig keeps moving.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Collin Waslsh just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Waslsh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Oxbig has his takedown stuffed and Waslsh counters with a nice double leg into guard. Waslsh is stalling in the full guard. Oxbig keeping moving, preventing Waslsh from controlling successfully. Waslsh slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oxbig keeping full guard, as Waslsh tries to pass. Oxbig trying to control the position.
Waslsh passes Oxbig's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Waslsh throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Waslsh content to control rather than advance. Waslsh passes the guard and advances to mount! Collin Waslsh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Waslsh in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Waslsh drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. A lull in the action here. Waslsh advances nicely into full mount. Waslsh controlling from mount. Oxbig takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Waslsh gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Oxbig tries to clinch but fails miserably and Waslsh counters with a takedown into side control. Waslsh takes a little break here. Oxbig wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Waslsh wants to control but Oxbig is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Waslsh is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Oxbig is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Collin Waslsh just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Waslsh throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Oxbig was covering up waiting for the punch and Waslsh finishes the takedown easily into guard. Waslsh trying to control the position from guard on top but Oxbig is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Waslsh is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Oxbig is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Waslsh is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Oxbig keeping moving, preventing Waslsh from controlling successfully. Waslsh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Oxbig is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Collin Waslsh showed his dominance in that final round. Well Waslsh has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
