Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cesar Areza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Biggy!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Areza throws a head kick that misses.
Biggy looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


It looks like Tony Biggy has been cut.
Cesar Areza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Areza throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Biggy.

Biggy clinches up against the cage.

Biggy gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Areza regains guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Areza is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Biggy is aware though and is defending well.

Areza has his foot on Biggy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Biggy works his way back into a safe position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Biggy content to stall in guard here.
Areza looking to hit a scissor sweep but Biggy is one step ahead there.

Biggy gets to his feet. Areza looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Biggy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Biggy decides to stand back up.

Biggy looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Biggy wanted to stand there but Areza had control of the position.

Areza throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Biggyis looking to pass into half guard but Areza pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Areza is in guard.
Biggy looks gassed!
Areza working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Biggy is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Biggy is looking for a triangle but Areza pushes his legs off easily.
Areza stands and throws Biggy's legs to the side, diving into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Biggy can do anything to dispel that myth.

Areza is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Biggy is trying to escape and Areza transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Biggy is forced to tap! Nice work there by Areza! Very nice indeed!
