The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morales lands with a nice body punch. Morales shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches The Psycho Canadian napping and manages to drive through into side control! Morales wants to control but The Psycho Canadian is keeping him busy. Morales wants to stand but The Psycho Canadian is controlling his arm. Morales is looking to take a break and control but The Psycho Canadian is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Morales throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Morales tries to advance to mount but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morales scores with a couple of short elbows. Morales has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The Psycho Canadian is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Morales asserts his dominance and retains side control. Morales leaves The Psycho Canadian with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Morales is looking to clinch. Morales misses with a takedown attempt and The Psycho Canadian counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The Psycho Canadian distracts Morales with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The Psycho Canadian pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Morales won't let The Psycho Canadian get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Morales is working for a guillotine from mount but The Psycho Canadian frees his head quite easily.
