Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vin Ner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Thorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ner kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Just Another Victim by Helmet&House Of Pain. Jeff Thorn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vin Ner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jeff Thorn! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ner shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ner scores with a three punch combo!
Ner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thorn swats him away and circles back towards the center. Thorn wants to clinch. Thorn takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ner misses with a body kick. Thorn leaves Ner with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ner closes the distance looking to clinch and Thorn counters with a series of strikes. Ner will be more careful next time no doubt. The fight moves into the clinch position. Ner lands an elbow that stopped Thorn in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Jeff Thorn has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ner using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Thorn has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Ner tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Thorn working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Ner looks to throw an elbow but misses. Ner misses with an elbow over the top. Thorn struggles to land a body shot inside as Ner controls his hands.
Thorn avoids the elbow strike from Ner, against the cage.
Thorn lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Thorn tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Thorn swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Thorn misses with a short punch on the inside. A nice right hand lands inside from Thorn. Ner with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Ner drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Thorn gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vin Ner. That's going to take a lot out of him. A nice glancing elbow lands by Ner. Thorn lands a hook to the side of the head. Ner unloads a knee to the mid-section. Thorn lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Thorn avoiding damage as Ner throws knees to the body.
Ner is breathing heavily. Ner misses with an elbow over the top. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Thorn. Ner tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Ner pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Thorn blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Thorn throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ner with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Thorn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Thorn pushes Ner up against the cage in a clinch. Thorn lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Thorn presses Ner against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. A nice glancing elbow lands by Ner. Ner throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Thorn lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Thorn lands a body shot in the clinch.
Thorn wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Thorn manages to break the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action! Ner jabbing away but nothing is landing. Thorn scores with a nice strike. Thorn throws a shot to the body.
Ner looks to clinch and Thorn counters with a nice uppercut. Ner misses with an uppercut. Ner tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Thorn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ner looks to clinch and Ner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Ner misses with a combination
and Thorn counters with a straight right hand.
Ner is rocked! Ner walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Thorn swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
