Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deacon Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ROY JONES (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Deacon Frost! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, ROY JONES! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! JONES shoots in for a takedown but Frost shows good takedown defense. Deacon Frost seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. JONES decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Frost misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Frost has a hand on JONES's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. JONES takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! JONES can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Frost is looking to escape. Frost is in all sorts of trouble here.
JONES pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Frost tries to lock up and control but JONES gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. JONES has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Frost is trying to reverse the position but instead JONES has taken his back - oops! What can Frost do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
You can see the frustration on Frost's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's one minute gone in the round. Frost grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. JONES has the hooks in. Frost is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Frost rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Frost makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Frost. Frost controls JONES momentarily but JONES frees himself. JONES controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Frost is trying to keep JONES in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Frost is looking for a triangle but JONES pushes his legs off easily.
JONES controlling from the top position. Frost looking to hit a scissor sweep but JONES is one step ahead there. Frost is breathing heavily. JONES wants to control from the top but Frost keeps moving. Frost not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. JONES trying to control the position from guard on top but Frost is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Frost throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Frost scores a takedown into full mount! JONES bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Frost looking to sweep here. No luck so far. JONES not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Frost working a defensive guard but JONES manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's four minutes gone in the round. JONES advances nicely into full mount. JONES looking to control but Frost is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Frost tries to reverse the position but JONES maintains control. JONES trying to control but Frost is having none of it. JONES tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. JONES gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Frost looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Frost looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
ROY JONES dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
JONES gets caught flat footed, as Frost shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Frost is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. JONES is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. JONES manages to escape and get back to his feet.
JONES displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Frost misses with a takedown attempt and JONES counters with a good low kick that Frost was not able to check. Frost closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming JONES to the mat! JONES manages to get full guard. Frost has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. JONES keeping moving, preventing Frost from controlling successfully. JONES has Frost pulled in close to control his posture. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Frost throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. JONES lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Frost! BOOM! JONES connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's one minute gone in the round. Frost is squirming around, avoiding JONES's attempts to control the action. JONES manages to capitalize on a mistake by Frost to take his back! Frost rolls, trying to escape but JONES keeps control of the position.

Can Frost hold on?! JONES is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Frost is keeping busy.
JONES is riding his opponent, not letting Frost buck him off. Frost breaks JONES's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Frost stands up over JONES, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Frost wants to control from the top but JONES keeps moving. Frost pushing down on JONES's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Frost escapes and gets back to his feet. JONES changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Frost tries to avoid it but JONES manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Frost to the ground. Frost escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. JONES shoots in but no luck this time. JONES motions for Frost to come forward. JONES throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frost misses with a takedown and JONES counters with a takedown into side control. Frost is looking to regain half guard here but JONES keeps moving and retains side control. JONES trying to control the action but Frost is working from the bottom. Frost is trying to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Frost's face as JONES controls the position. Frost is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Frost throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. You can see the frustration on Frost's face as JONES controls the position. Frost might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Frost closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. JONES did well to prevent Frost getting side control. JONES is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Frost's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Frost's back! Frost is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if JONES gets his way!
JONES lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. JONES looking to break Frost's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Frost remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise JONES will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Will JONES go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

A close second round but ROY JONES will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Frost's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

JONES closes the distance and clinches. JONES pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. JONES lands a nice shot that snaps Frost's head back.
JONES moves in looking to clinch but Frost pushes him off. Both fighters are breathing heavily. JONES fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Frost misses with a takedown and JONES counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

JONES is nestled in close to Frost, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Frost wants to improve his position but JONES is controlling well.
JONES looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Frost with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. JONES is controlling the pace.
Frost tries to roll over but JONES keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

JONES content to control rather than advance. JONES wants to stand up but Frost is controlling the position.

ROY JONES has got the better of the ground game so far. Frost lands an upkick as JONES stands over him. Frost wants to stand and escape but JONES is having none of it. JONES trying to control but Frost is working from the bottom. Frost looking for a sweep. Not yet Frost, not yet. Deacon Frost has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Frost stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Frost wants it to stay on the feet. JONES swats away the attempt to clinch by Frost. JONES fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Excellent takedown into side control there by Frost. JONES is trying to control Frost's posture but Frost avoids it. Frost cracks JONES with a big right hand but JONES just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that's the end of the fight! ROY JONES comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well JONES has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
