Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mij Medium (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andreas Riffel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mij Medium! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andreas Riffel! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Medium closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Riffel to the mat! Riffel manages to get full guard. Medium is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Medium looking to pass the guard. Riffel is looking for a triangle but Medium pushes his legs off easily.

Medium working some strikes from top position. Medium has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Medium postures up.
Riffel looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round. Medium is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Medium chips away with some ground and pound. Medium looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Medium got a little sloppy there for a moment and Riffel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Medium has managed to get both his arms back between Riffel's legs - danger averted. Medium content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Medium slips nicely into half guard. Riffel on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Riffel wants to improve his position but Medium is controlling well.
Riffel looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Riffel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Medium is thwarting Riffel's attempts to control the position. Riffel is looking to improve his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Riffel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Medium counters with a nice double leg into side control. Riffel won't be happy with that. Riffel looks gassed! Riffel is trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Medium working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Medium lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Riffel down.
Medium scores with punches from side control. Riffel tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Medium wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. You can see the frustration on Riffel's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Riffel manages to work his way to half guard, despite Medium's best efforts. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Riffel trying to control here.

Medium fails with an attempt to clinch.
Medium tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Riffel paws at him with a jab and circles away. Riffel misses with a takedown attempt and Medium counters with a nice uppercut. Medium fails in his attempt to clinch. Medium tries to clinch but Riffel is having none of it. No luck with that takedown attempt from Riffel. Medium scores with a push kick. Riffel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Medium looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riffel shoots and misses and Medium counters with a head kick that drops Riffel to the mat! Riffel scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Riffel is rocked! Mij Medium has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andreas Riffel. Medium feints a jab and as Riffel dips his head, Medium unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Riffel right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Riffel falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Medium smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mij Medium!
