Itto's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Gods Made Heavy Metal. Ogami Itto has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taoka shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nice takedown defense from Itto. No joy for Taoka on that attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Taoka.
Ogami Itto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazuo Taoka.
Itto connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Itto sizes up Taoka with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Itto scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kazuo Taoka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Itto misses with a few strikes there.
Taoka tries to score a power double leg takedown but Itto sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Taoka somewhat.
Taoka shoots in but no luck this time.

Taoka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Itto keeps working.

Taoka looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Taoka wants to pass the guard but Itto is defending well.

Taoka is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Taoka is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Itto sees it coming and defends easily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Taoka misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Taoka shoots in for a takedown but Itto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Itto keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Taoka falls off balance throwing a combination
and Itto counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Itto! Taoka is backing up but he can't get away as Itto lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Taoka and ends the fight. Great knockout.
