Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryley Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, I'm Shipping Up To Boston - Dropkick Murphys . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luiz Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryley Spencer!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Reed Andrews and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer throws a combination. Diaz tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Diaz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spencer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Diaz drops back looking for a leg! Spencer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spencer manages to kick Diaz off! Diaz jumps back into Spencer's guard.

Diaz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Spencer is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Diaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Spencer controls Diaz momentarily but Diaz frees himself.

Diaz drops back looking for a leg! Spencer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spencer manages to kick Diaz off! Diaz jumps back into Spencer's guard.
Spencer is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Diaz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Spencer's guard.
Diaz wants to pass the guard but Spencer is keeping the position.
Spencer is trying to control the position but Diaz postures up.
Spencer keeping full guard, as Diaz tries to pass.
Diaz is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Spencer controls Diaz momentarily but Diaz frees himself.
Spencer wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spencer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Spencer keeping full guard, as Diaz tries to pass.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Spencer moves in looking to clinch but Diaz pushes him off.
Spencer throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Spencer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Diaz tries to circle away but Spencer has him pinned against the cage.

Spencer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Diaz dodges the punch combination from Spencer.
No joy there for Spencer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Spencer is looking to clinch but Diaz is avoiding it.

Diaz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Spencer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Diaz wants to pass the guard but Spencer is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Luiz Diaz will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Spencer takes the fight into the clinch.
Diaz jumps guard but Spencer stands there with Diaz around his waist. Diaz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Spencer decides to pull guard.

Diaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Diaz tries to free his leg and advance position but Spencer is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Spencer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Diaz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Diaz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Spencer trying to keep a closed guard but Diaz is proving a slippery customer.

Diaz drops back looking for a leg! Spencer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spencer manages to kick Diaz off! Diaz jumps back into Spencer's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Diaz wants to pass the guard but Spencer is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Diaz takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ryley Spencer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spencer lands a nice leg kick that just misses Diaz's sensitive parts.
Spencer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Diaz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Spencer defends it nicely.

Spencer moves into the clinch.

Spencer successfully pulls guard.
Spencer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spencer is trying to keep Diaz in close.
Spencer seems keen to control Diaz's posture.

Spencer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Diaz defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spencer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Diaz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A left and a right from Spencer both land. Nice combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryley Spencer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Spencer rushes Diaz and presses him up against the cage.

Spencer gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Diaz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Spencer pulls his head out easily.
Still in half guard, Spencer seems content to control.
Spencer throwing shots but Diaz is blocking nicely.
Diaz wants to sweep but Spencer has passed to side control!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Diaz is trying to improve his position.

Spencer is trying to get an arm triangle but Diaz is defending well.
Diaz is looking to reverse the position.
Spencer is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Diaz will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Spencer trying to control the action but Diaz is working from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
You can see the frustration on Diaz's face as Spencer controls the position.
Diaz is trying to improve his position.
Spencer advances to mount.
Spencer wants to control the pace but Diaz is squirming around nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Diaz is looking to get to half guard.
Spencer controlling the position easily from mount.
Spencer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Diaz is looking to escape.
Diaz working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Diaz is working hard here to advance position.
Diaz tries to improve his position but instead Spencer has taken his back!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Will Spencer go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Diaz is really stuck here.

Ryley Spencer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Spencer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
