Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Winters!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winters misses with a two punch combination.
Winters misses with the combination.
Foster throws a nice looking combination but Winters bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Foster closes this distance looking for a takedown but Winters circles away.
A combination from Winters does no damage.
Foster wants to clinch up but Winters keeps it at a distance.
Foster tries a head kick but it misses.
Winters misses with a two punch combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winters throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Winters shoots in for a double leg but Foster sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Foster with a poor takedown
and Winters counters with a left and a right that stings Foster.

Foster tries for a takedown but Winters circles away easily
and Winters counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carl Foster. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Winters misses with a two punch combination.

and Winters counters with a nice uppercut.
A lazy body kick from Foster
and Winters counters with a right hand to the body.
Winters misses with a few strikes there.

and Winters counters with a three punch combo that has Foster backing up. Foster nods at Winters to acknowledge the strikes.
Foster takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Winters throws a hook but Foster blocks it.
Foster tries to clinch

and Winters decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Foster's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Winters with a flurry of punches that miss.
Winters pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Foster is keeping the position for now.
Winters sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Foster's guard.

Winters is looking for a kimura but Foster is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Winters to get the leverage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Foster is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Winters scores with a couple of nice shots.
Foster wants to control but Winters is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Winters is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Foster is looking to improve his position.
Winters passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Foster!
Foster tries to lock up and control but Winters gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Winters is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Foster can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Winters working for a guillotine from mount but Foster is in no mood to give up.

Winters wants to take Foster's back here but Foster is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Winters cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Foster on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Foster tries to get out of the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Winters throws a sloppy strike and Foster uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Foster has ended up in Winters's guard.
Winters is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Foster in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Foster wants to control from the top but Winters keeps moving.
Winters not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Winters looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Foster passes into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Foster looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Winters is avoiding damage well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Winters dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Foster gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Winters looking to control but Foster is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Winters quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Winters but it's paid off an Foster is forced to tap! Nice work by Winters.
