PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Pimentel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Carbone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pimentel comes to the cage accompanied by "Lamb of God" Walk With Me In Hell. Carbone comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Doomsday - Atreyu kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Luiz Carbone is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Pimentel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luiz Carbone!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carbone jabs at Pimentel's body.
Carbone throws a body kick that misses.
Pimentel blocks the body kick.
Pimentel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carbone tries to avoid it but Pimentel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carbone to the ground. Carbone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pimentel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A head kick misses from Pimentel.
Pimentel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carbone pinned against the cage. Carbone gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Pimentel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pimentel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carbone sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Carbone throws a low kick, looking for Pimentel's leg but Pimentel calmly moves out of range.
Carbone lands the left hand.

Carbone lands a left and a right that sends Pimentel crashing to the canvas! Carbone dives into mount looking to finish!

Pimentel is rocked!

It looks like Tom Pimentel has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carbone tries to get up but Pimentel was controlling his body and he's reversed into guard.
Oh Pimentel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pimentel throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Pimentel seems to have got his legs back now.

Pimentel is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Pimentel is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pimentel stops Carbone from standing up.
Carbone pulls Pimentel in to control the position.
Carbone wants to sweep but no luck.
Pimentel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carbone swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Carbone really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pimentel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Carbone ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A left and a right from Carbone both land. Nice combination.
Carbone lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pimentel at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carbone lands a really nice looking cross but Pimentel seems unphased.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pimentel takes one to the side of the head.
Carbone moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Carbone lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Pimentel can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Carbone and Pimentel drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Carbone.
