Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donatello The dragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chase comes to the cage accompanied by Break. The dragon is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Cereal Killer by Method Man and Red Man. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Chase! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donatello The dragon! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chase has closed the distance and engaged The dragon in a clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The dragon wants to take a breather but Chase is having none of it. The dragon is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The dragon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The dragon not landing any meaningful shots this time. The dragon trying to control the action but Chase is working from the bottom. The dragon wants to free his trapped foot but Chase is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. The dragon avoids the head kick by Chase.
The dragon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Chase keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Chase moves into full guard.

The dragon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The dragon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chase wants to stand but The dragon is controlling the position. Chase bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in The dragon's guard. The dragon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chase is aware though and is defending well. Chase is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chase tries to free his leg and advance position but The dragon is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Chase seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chase looks to land a body kick but The dragon moved away. The dragon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Chase gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. The dragon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chase. The dragon swats away the attempt to clinch by Chase. Chase clinches up with The dragon and pushes him back against the cage. Chase gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Chase misses with a knee strike.

The dragon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chase's waist but Chase gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing The dragon off to one side. The dragon throws a big shot that misses. The dragon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chase was well out of range. Poor timing from The dragon. Chase moves into range and clinches up with The dragon. Chase misses with a knee strike.

Chase creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through The dragon's defenses. The dragon is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. The dragon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. The dragon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Chase is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The dragon lands a couple of elbows. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Chase has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but The dragon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The dragon trying to control but Chase is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. The dragon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chase is on top in guard.
Chase has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The dragon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Chase slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chase accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Chase stands up from guard. Let's bang! The dragon keeps the fight on the outside. Chase darts in and clinches The dragon up against the cage. A battle for position here, against the cage. Nice elbow from Chase. Chase is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

The dragon does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Chase misses with a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Chase lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. The dragon misses with a jab, cross combination.

Donatello The dragon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The fight stays on the outside here - Chase looks like he's thinking about clinching though. The dragon moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Chase gets in close and instigates a clinch. Chase prevents a takedown attempt there.
