Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Rapol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Tycoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Rapol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Tycoon!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rapol looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rapol with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Tycoon wants to improve his position but Rapol is controlling well.

Rapol postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Tycoon to stand up.
Tycoon tries a head kick but it misses.
Tycoon wants to clinch.
Tycoon is looking to clinch but Rapol is avoiding it.

Rapol shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tycoon is trying to defend but Rapol finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Rapol thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Rapol is just content to waste time from the top position. Tycoon takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Tycoon looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Tycoon looking to control.

Tycoon has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rapol is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Tycoon.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rapol thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The referee asks Rapol politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rapol prefers to stall for the moment though.
Tycoon wants to control but Rapol postures up.

Tycoon might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rapol kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Tycoon is trying to buck Rapol off.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Rapol counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rapol trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Tycoon is trying to control the position but Rapol postures up.
Rapol content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Tycoon wants to get back to his feet but Rapol is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Rapol drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Rapol drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Tycoon dives on top into guard.
Tycoon throwing strikes but missing.
Tycoon trying to control but Rapol is working from the bottom.
Rapol looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tycoon is one step ahead there.
Rapol is working hard here to advance position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rapol trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Rapol wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Rapol tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Tycoon drops back looking for a leg! Rapol is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rapol manages to kick Tycoon off! Tycoon jumps back into Rapol's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tycoon misses with a combination

and Rapol counters with a takedown into side control.
Rapol tries to move to full mount but Tycoon actually manages to regain half guard.
Tycoon makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tycoon.

Tycoon pulls Rapol in close to prevent any damage.
Tycoon controls Rapol momentarily but Rapol frees himself.
Michael Rapol overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Tycoon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rapol is aware though and is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rapol is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rapol looking to sit in guard and control but Tycoon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Rapol manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tycoon manages to get himself to full guard.
Tycoon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rapol postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Tycoon throws his legs up looking for a submission but Rapol uses it to pass to side control.
Tycoon is looking for a sweep.
Tycoon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Rapol stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Rapol tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Tycoon gets back to half guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rapol sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tycoon defending well though.

Tycoon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rapol is working away from the top position though.
Rapol is just content to waste time from the top position. Tycoon takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Tycoon keeping moving, preventing Rapol from controlling successfully.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rapol working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tycoon looks to land a body kick but Rapol moved away.
Tycoon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Rapol counters with a shoot takedown. Tycoon fights it but they end up in guard.
Rapol trying to control but Tycoon is working from the bottom.
Rapol trying to stand up but can't free himself from Tycoon's guard.
Rapol is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Tycoon looking for a guillotine here but Rapol defends easily.
Rapol not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rapol stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tycoon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rapol looking to sit in guard and control but Tycoon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Tycoon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Tycoon trying to control the position from guard on top but Rapol is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jake Tycoon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Michael Rapol is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
