Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Phosphate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Trioli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Phosphate could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jeremy Trioli's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Phosphate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Trioli!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trioli feints and as Phosphate raises his hands in defense, Trioli changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Trioli stands and steps away. Phosphate gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Trioli counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Phosphate doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Trioli cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Trioli shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Trioli showed some decent athleticism there.
Trioli takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Phosphate is not content to let Trioli control the position.
Trioli might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Phosphate kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Phosphate is looking for a sweep. Trioli is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

and Phosphate counters with a single leg into guard. Trioli didn't expect that.

Phosphate drops back, looking for a kneebar! Trioli looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Trioli looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Trioli!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Phosphate throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Phosphate stands up over Trioli, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Phosphate has hold of Trioli's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Trioli tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Phosphate cranks the arm and Trioli screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Trioli, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
