Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joaquin Bordado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robby Myres! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Myres dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Left hook, right uppercut from Myres.
It looks like Joaquin Bordado has been cut. Robby Myres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A solid body kick from Myres. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Myres throws a head kick that Bordado semi-blocks.
Myres looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Bordado! Bordado tries to get back to half guard but can't. Myres takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Myres can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bordado is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Myres is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Myres with shots to the head and body - Bordado looks very uncomfortable down there. Myres really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bordado. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Myres throwing strikes here but Bordado is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Myres working away from the top, dropping strikes. Myres trying to control but he's not successful this time. Bordado throwing hammer fists to the chest of Myres. What's that going to do exactly? Myres throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bordado because Myres loaded up on that one. Myres wants to control the pace but Bordado is squirming around nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bordado is looking to improve his position but Myres isn't that keen on the idea. Bordado manages to regain half guard. Good work. Bordado is in trouble now - Myres has advanced to mount! Bordado tries to reverse the position but Myres maintains control. Myres trying to control but he's not successful this time. Myres throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bordado because Myres loaded up on that one. Bordado regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Myres is trying to control the action in half guard but Bordado is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Myres is going to stand back up.
Bordado wants to get back to full guard. Bordado makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bordado. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bordado manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bordado lands a heavy elbow. Bordado scoring with strikes but Myres is staying in there. Bordado misses with a head shot. Bordado sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Bordado swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Myres is now in Bordado's guard. A big mistake from Bordado there, giving up the dominant position! Myres trying to control but Bordado is working from the bottom. Myres looks gassed! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Myres advances to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robby Myres dominated that round. The cut man is working on Joaquin Bordado's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Myres fails to land with a series of punches.

Joaquin Bordado is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bordado slaps away a takedown attempt from Myres, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bordado fails with a takedown attempt. Myres throws a half hearted mid kick. Bordado gets a takedown into half guard.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Bordado working Myres over with strikes. Bordado throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Myres wants to control but Bordado is keeping busy and won't allow it. Bordado seems to be working for a kimura but Myres defends the submission attempt. Bordado throwing shots but Myres is blocking nicely.

Bordado prevents Myres from improving his position. Bordado working Myres over with strikes. Bordado drops an elbow to the side of Myres's head. Bordado prevents Myres from improving his position. Bordado has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bordado misses with a head shot. Myres uses the momentum to regain guard. Myres preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bordado landing some decent shots from guard. Bordado missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bordado works a leg free and moves into half guard. Bordado slips a nice elbow through Myres's hands, connecting with Myres's forehead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bordado drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Myres manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bordado has Myres in his guard. Bordado is looking for a triangle but Myres pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Myres accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bordado wants to sweep here but Myres controlling him for the moment. Bordado avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bordado escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Myres gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bordado manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bordado misses with a head shot. Bordado throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Myres taking shots to the head. Bordado lands a nice shot to the head. Bordado lands a big shot there that rocks Myres but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Myres turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Bordado off and cradles Myres's limp body as Bordado celebrates with his corner.
