Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roy Bent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Hill! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Bent. No joy for Hill on that attempt. Hill cracks a nice hook into Bent's ribs. Bent tries to keep at a distance but Hill has taken the fight into the clinch. Hill successfully pulls guard.
Bent is looking to work some ground and pound but Hill has wrist control. Hill can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bent controls the pace. Hill controls Bent momentarily but Bent frees himself. Bent is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hill not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hill escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bent gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hill trying to control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A nice leg kick lands there from Hill. Bent stuffs the takedown. Hill connects with a high kick. Hill lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Hill fails with a takedown attempt. Roy Bent has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Hill. Nice takedown defense from Bent. No joy for Hill on that attempt. Hill looks gassed! Hill misses with a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bent fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hill sprawls well initially but Bent persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bent content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hill is refusing to be controlled, as Bent sits in half guard. Bent stands up out of the half guard. Tyler Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hill with a lazy takedown attempt and Bent counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Bent tries to pass to full mount but Hill defends it. Bent is working hard here to advance position. Bent is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bent seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Hill has recovered full guard. Bent prevents Hill from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hill avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bent drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hill dives on top into guard. Hill wants to control from the top but Bent keeps moving. Bent is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hill is controlling him. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bent holds on and takes a little breather. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tyler Hill will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hill shoots and misses and Bent counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Bent prevents Hill from improving his position. Hill manages to get to full guard.
Hill is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bent showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Bent seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hill for as long as he can get away with. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hill keeping full guard, as Bent tries to pass. Bent controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Bent thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hill utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hill throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Hill wants to stand up but Bent is controlling him. Bent controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Hill bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bent's guard. Hill tries to stand but Bent is controlling from the bottom. Hill trying to control but Bent is working from the bottom. Hill loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Bent is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hill is controlling him. Bent keeping moving, preventing Hill from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bent wants to sweep but no luck. Bent uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Hill with a lazy takedown attempt and Bent counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Hill keeping moving, preventing Bent from controlling successfully. Bent controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Bent is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hill is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hill has escaped and now he's on top!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bent utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hill looking to sit in guard and control but Bent gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hill controls Bent momentarily but Bent frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Bent dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Bent shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hill's guard. Bent wants to pass the guard but Hill is keeping the position. Bent is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Bent trying to control but Hill is working from the bottom. Hill can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bent controls the pace. Bent has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hill is trying to control the position but Bent postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bent trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bent stopping the sweep attempt from Hill. Bent postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hill is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bent, into his guard. Roy Bent overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hill wants to pass the guard but Bent is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bent is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Hill drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bent gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Hill wants to get back to striking at distance but Bent won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bent scores with a takedown into Hill's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bent is stalling in the full guard. Bent has gone for a leg lock! Hill slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bent's guard. Bent wants to control but Hill passes easily into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bent keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Hill wants to free his trapped foot but Bent is holding on for dear life with his legs. Bent holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Bent flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Bent trying to hold on to Hill's head to control him but Hill postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Roy Bent showed his dominance in that final round. I think Bent has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
