Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Savage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Willy Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Savage. A head kick misses from Sanchez. Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt. Sanchez connects with a good right hand that stumbles Savage. Savage circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sanchez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Savage has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Savage and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Savage scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Sanchez connects with a crisp jab. Sanchez takes one to the chin there. Sanchez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Savage sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sanchez somewhat. Savage throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Savage fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Sanchez slips a jab from Savage. Savage tries to land a leg kick but Sanchez saw it coming and moves away.
Savage throws the left hand but Sanchez avoids the punch easily. Sanchez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Savage but Savage pushes him off and we're back to square one. Randy Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Willy Sanchez. Sanchez on the wrong end of a nice jab. Sanchez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Savage. Sanchez moves out of range of the strikes. Sanchez has a takedown stuffed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt. Savage with a hook. Savage tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sanchez was well out of range. Poor timing from Savage. Sanchez walks into a stiff left hand from Savage. Savage is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Savage keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Sanchez avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Savage thuds a left hand into Sanchez's body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez tries to move into range but Savage moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Sanchez looks for a takedown but Savage sprawls well. Savage swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Savage lands with a cross. Savage misses with a wild combination.
Savage looks to throw the jab but Sanchez is out of range. Sanchez shoots in but Savage avoids the takedown attempt easily. Savage ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sanchez moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sanchez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Savage sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sanchez somewhat. Savage throws a big shot that misses. Sanchez throws a leg kick but Savage checks it. Savage misses with a hook. Sanchez ducked under it nicely. Sanchez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Savage tries to avoid it but Sanchez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Savage to the ground. Savage escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Savage misses with a looping left. Savage throws a shot from downtown. Sanchez moves away and avoids it. Sanchez takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sanchez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Savage swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sanchez. Sanchez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Savage preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Sanchez missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Sanchez is nestled in close to Savage, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Savage wants to control but Sanchez is keeping busy and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Savage gets full guard. Savage trying to control the position here. Sanchez looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Savage wants to sweep here but Sanchez controlling him for the moment. Sanchez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sanchez missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sanchez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sanchez postures up in Savage's guard and throws a big left but Savage blocks it. Sanchez stopping the sweep attempt from Savage.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. The fighters circling - Savage throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez moves away from the strike by Savage. Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Savage connects with a single shot there. A telegraphed right hand from Sanchez misses the target. Good work by Sanchez as he checks the leg kick. Savage waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sanchez.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. No luck with that takedown attempt from Sanchez. Randy Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Willy Sanchez. Savage checks a low kick from Sanchez. Sanchez slips a straight right by Savage. Sanchez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Savage sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Savage displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sanchez. That was a close second round but I would say that Randy Savage will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

You can see the frustration on Savage's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Savage tries to buck Sanchez off but Sanchez is having none of it. Sanchez in side control, throwing shots but Savage defends. Savage knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sanchez on the ground. Savage holds on to Sanchez's head and controls the position momentarily. An elbow from Sanchez crashes against the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Savage is trying to control Sanchez's posture but Sanchez avoids it. Savage prevents Sanchez from moving into mount.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Savage misses with a double jab
and Sanchez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Savage checks a leg kick. Randy Savage is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Savage jabbing away but nothing is landing. Savage scores with a sloppy right hand. Sanchez should have avoided that one. Sanchez dodges the punch combination from Savage.
And that's the end of the fight! Randy Savage showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Savage, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
