Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Flair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricky Young will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Flair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Young! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flair moves in looking to clinch but Young pushes him off. Ricky Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Flair tries to clinch but Young is having none of it. Flair wants to clinch. A right-left combo lands from Young. Young is looking to clinch. Flair takes a kick to the side of the head. Young lands a high kick!
Young throws a head kick that half lands.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Young looks to clinch and Flair connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Young avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Flair looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Young tries to clinch up. Young rushes Flair and presses him up against the cage. Young can't get the takedown.
Young is trying to break the clinch but Flair has him pressed against the cage. Flair leaning his opponent against the cage. Flair is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Young gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flair is working for takedown but Young is calmly controlling the position for now. Flair manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Young won't allow Flair to sweep him here. Young wants to stand but Flair is controlling his posture from full guard. Flair looking for a sweep. Not yet Flair, not yet. Flair trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Young wants to get up but he can't break Flair's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Young gets to his feet - Flair follows without any prompting. Flair shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Young as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Flair. That's going to take a lot out of him. Flair is breathing heavily. Young tries to keep at a distance but Flair has taken the fight into the clinch. Young using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Young is looking to control Flair's arms but Flair gets an underhook and turns him. Now Young has his back to the cage. Young lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Flair tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Young just stands there and leans against the cage. Flair takes a knee right on the jaw!
Young jumps into guard, dragging Flair to the mat.
Young is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Flair is controlling him. Flair looking to pass the guard. Young wriggles free and stands up. Flair keeps the fight on the outside. Flair swats away the attempt to clinch by Young. Young clinches but Flair breaks the clinch and Flair counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Young!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flair controlling the pace for now. Young really wants to buck Flair off and get back to his feet. Flair working for a submission but Young is keeping him at bay. Young is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Young wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Flair takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Young is trying to stand up. Flair working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Flair trying to control but Young is having none of it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Flair won't let Young get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricky Young dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Flair takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Young tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Young clinches but Flair breaks the clinch and Flair counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Flair gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Flair scores a takedown into full mount! Young is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Young is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Flair content just to control the position here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Young is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flair controlling the position easily from mount. Flair looking to control but Young is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Young is trying to stand. Flair looking to secure an arm triangle but Young defends it well. Young trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Flair controlling his opponent. Flair throwing strikes here but Young is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Flair trying to control but he's not successful this time. Young is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flair jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Young is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Young and Flair has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Young is pushing Flair's head away, looking to escape. Flair manages to hold on to the position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Flair tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Flair prevents Young from escaping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Flair dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Flair closes the distance and clinches up with Young, looking for a takedown. Flair pushes Young against the cage but Young circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Young closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Young successfully pulls guard.
Flair prevents Young from getting back to his feet. Flair sitting in guard here, content to control. Young wriggles free and stands up. Flair darts in and clinches Young up against the cage. Young decides to pull guard. Flair drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Young manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Flair has Young in his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Flair has a closed guard, preventing Young from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Young stopping the sweep attempt from Flair. Young wanted to stand there but Flair had control of the position. Flair seems keen to control Young's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Flair might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Young wants to get up but he can't break Flair's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Flair wants to sweep here but Young controlling him for the moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Young lands a high kick!
Flair tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ricky Young is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Flair steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Young. That one must have hurt. Flair gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Young has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Flair uses from the top position. Flair prevents Young from getting back to his feet. Shane Flair overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Flair drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Flair jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Flair has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flair's corner is telling him to maintain position. Young is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Flair is controlling him. Flair sitting in guard here, content to control. Flair trying to control the position from guard on top but Young is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Young is looking to stand up but Flair isn't so interested in that idea.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Flair is defended easily by Young.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Young looks to clinch and Flair counters with a takedown into side control. Flair wants to stand but Young has his arm trapped. Young is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Flair cracks Young with a big elbow. Flair thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Young bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shane Flair. I think Flair has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
