PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fuzzy Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Solomon Burke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burke has chosen Discoboys - I came for you as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fuzzy Bear seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Burke is looking to slow Bear down with leg kicks.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Burke looks to land a combination. Bear sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Fuzzy Bear has been cut.

A jab-cross combination lands for Burke and sends Bear crashing to the mat! Burke follows him down to the mat - Bear regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Burke is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Burke gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Burke throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bear stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bear throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Burke scoring well with a low kick there.

Burke thuds his shin into the meat of Bear's side.
Burke throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Bear to counter with a crisp jab.
Bear is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Bear takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Bear takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

A big right from Bear misses.
Bear loads up on a big right hand but Burke slips the punch.
Burke throws a sloppy head kick and Bear moves out of range easily.
A nice combination there by Burke.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The cut man is working on Fuzzy Bear's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bear throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Bear tries to close the distance and clinch but Burke swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bear throws the left hand but Burke avoids the punch easily.

Burke pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Burke misses with a body shot.
Bear tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burke was well out of range. Poor timing from Bear.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Burke in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

and Burke counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Bear is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Burke is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bear rather than just go for the knockout.

Burke feints and then cracks Bear's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bear down.
Burke lands a big head kick that sends Bear to the canvas! Burke follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
