Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Svein Pilgaard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josu Ander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Svein Pilgaard has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Svein Pilgaard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josu Ander! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ander drives through with a takedown into guard. Ander looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ander drops back looking for a leg! Pilgaard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pilgaard manages to kick Ander off! Ander jumps back into Pilgaard's guard. Ander trying to control but Pilgaard is working from the bottom. Pilgaard has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Pilgaard looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ander tries to free his leg and advance position but Pilgaard is retaining full guard. Pilgaard wants to sweep here but Ander controlling him for the moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Ander gets a takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pilgaard moves into full guard.
Ander wants to pass the guard but Pilgaard is keeping the position. Ander won't allow Pilgaard to sweep him here. Ander passes Pilgaard's left leg - he's now in half guard. Ander wants to pass to mount but Pilgaard is defending the position. Pilgaard trying to control from the bottom.
Pilgaard wants to improve his position but Ander is controlling well.
Ander works his way into full mount! Ander looks gassed! Pilgaard tries to lock up and control but Ander gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Pilgaard is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ander lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pilgaard hang on? Ander wants to control the pace but Pilgaard is squirming around nicely. Pilgaard tries to hold on but Ander postures up. Ander jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Pilgaard is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Pilgaard and Ander has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Pilgaard is looking for a sweep. Ander tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ander has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Pilgaard sneaks back into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ander connects with a nice short shot to Pilgaard's temple. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ander lands a nice short elbow.
Pilgaard is rocked! Ander wants to work for an arm triangle but Pilgaard is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Oh Pilgaard is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Ander is looking to advance position but Pilgaard won't allow it. Pilgaard is staying active underneath Ander, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Pilgaard seems to have got his legs back now. Pilgaard tries to get to full guard but Ander has control of the leg. Ander looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Ander scoring with strikes to the body and head. Ander passes to side control. Ander has knee on belly and moves into mount. Pilgaard is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ander scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Pilgaard?
Ander lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Ander landing strikes from the mount. The referee warns Pilgaard that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ander prevents Pilgaard from getting the reversal. Ander working for a guillotine from mount but Pilgaard is in no mood to give up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ander cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Ander has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pilgaard's face.
Ander throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Ander working for a submission but Pilgaard is keeping him at bay. Ander in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
It looks like Svein Pilgaard has been cut. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ander jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pilgaard manages to avoid the submission attempt. Ander is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pilgaard knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josu Ander dominated that round. The cut man is working on Svein Pilgaard's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ander feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Pilgaard seems keen to control Ander's posture. Pilgaard not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pilgaard has his foot on Ander's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ander works his way back into a safe position though. Pilgaard keeping moving, preventing Ander from controlling successfully. Ander looking to pass the guard. Pilgaard could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Ander is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Pilgaard is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Pilgaard looking for a guillotine here but Ander defends easily.
Pilgaard is trying to control the position but Ander postures up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ander tries to free his leg and advance position but Pilgaard is retaining full guard. Ander lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Ander thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ander drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pilgaard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ander has Pilgaard in his guard. Ander has his foot on Pilgaard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pilgaard works his way back into a safe position though. Ander is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ander is looking for a triangle but Pilgaard pushes his legs off easily.
Ander lands a decent shot there. Josu Ander has got the better of the ground game so far. Pilgaard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ander swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ander with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Pilgaard can't handle though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pilgaard is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pilgaard is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ander has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Pilgaard is looking to defend but Ander has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Pilgaard! Ander pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Pilgaard taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Josu Ander!
