Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Henrik Stahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Wegesin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stahl's entrance music is 'Return to Jericho' by Asian Dub Foundation. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Wegesin's choice of entrance music: The four tops - It's the same old song. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Henrik Stahl! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, DJ Wegesin! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stahl circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stahl avoids the head kick by Wegesin.
Stahl swats away the attempt to clinch by Wegesin. Stahl is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wegesin. Wegesin avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Stahl waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Wegesin. Wegesin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Wegesin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Stahl's elbow. Wegesin taking a breather. Stahl takes an elbow to the forehead. Wegesin tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stahl avoids it. Wegesin fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Stahl's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wegesin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Stahl. Wegesin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wegesin fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Wegesin is looking to take a break and control but Stahl is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wegesin working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stahl is looking to reverse the position. Wegesin working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stahl on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Stahl manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Wegesin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stahl keeps working. Wegesin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. I looks like Wegesin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stahl actively working from the bottom here. Wegesin is controlling the pace.
Stahl is not content to let Wegesin control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wegesin seems to be looking for submissions.
Wegesin looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wegesin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Wegesin frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Stahl wants to control but Wegesin is having none of it. Wegesin looking to ground and pound but Stahl is blocking nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Stahl is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Wegesin wants to control but instead Stahl manages to regain half guard. Wegesin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stahl keeps working. Stahl wants to improve his position but Wegesin is controlling well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stahl is trying is best to control the position here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wegesin shoots in and drives through. Stahl sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DJ Wegesin dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Stahl throws a body punch but Wegesin moves out of range. Wegesin avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Wegesin throws a push kick but Stahl slaps the foot to one side. Wegesin fails with an attempt to clinch.
The crowd cheers as Stahl lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wegesin doesn't seem phased though. Stahl misses with a hook. Stahl jabs Wegesin right on the nose. Wegesin blinks but takes it well. Stahl lands a lovely overhand right. Stahl misses with a hook. Wegesin misses with a looping right. Stahl misses with an uppercut. Wegesin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stahl looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The referee asks Wegesin politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Wegesin prefers to stall for the moment though. Wegesin throws a strike aimed at the side of Stahl's head but Stahl avoids it well. Wegesin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wegesin looks up at the clock and then as Stahl takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Wegesin smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Wegesin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wegesin throws a strike aimed at the side of Stahl's head but Stahl avoids it well. Stahl is not content to let Wegesin control the position. Wegesin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stahl knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stahl is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Wegesin's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Stahl tries to get to full guard but Wegesin has control of the leg. Stahl preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Wegesin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Wegesin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stahl's head. Wegesin slows the pace down in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stahl tries to roll over but Wegesin keeps him under control. Stahl wants to get back to his feet.
Wegesin wants to take a breather but Stahl is having none of it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A big right from Stahl misses. Wegesin attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Wegesin throws a head kick that misses. Wegesin throws a sloppy head kick and Stahl moves out of range easily. Stahl throws out a loose jab but Wegesin uses good head movement to avoid it. Jab by Stahl.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Wegesin looks to land a body kick but Stahl moved away. Wegesin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stahl's waist but Stahl gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wegesin off to one side. Stahl cracks Wegesin with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Wegesin misses with a shot to the body enabling Stahl to counter with a crisp jab. Stahl throws a hook to the side of Wegesin's head but Wegesin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Wegesin clinches but Stahl breaks the clinch and Stahl cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Stahl throws out a loose jab but Wegesin uses good head movement to avoid it. Wegesin tries to clinch enabling Stahl to counter with a crisp jab. A telegraphed right hand from Stahl misses the target. Wegesin wants to clinch up but Stahl keeps it at a distance. Wegesin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stahl.
Wegesin throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Stahl throws a jab when Wegesin was well out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Henrik Stahl dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Wegesin fails with a takedown attempt. Stahl blocks the body kick.
Stahl thuds his right hand into Wegesin's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Stahl missing with a left hand there. Wegesin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Wegesin shoots in looking for a takedown. Stahl tries to sprawl out of it but Wegesin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stahl manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Stahl throws a looping overhand right but Wegesin ducks down to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stahl connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Wegesin is rocked! Wegesin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stahl, pushing him back against the cage. Wegesin is still on wobbly legs! Can Stahl finish him? Stahl manages to break the clinch.
Wegesin seems to have recovered his senses. Stahl jabbing away but nothing is landing. Wegesin moves out of range as Stahl strikes. Stahl is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wegesin shoots in for a takedown but Stahl shows good takedown defense. Henrik Stahl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DJ Wegesin. Stahl lands a left and a right that send Wegesin crashing to the mat, dazed. Stahl thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Wegesin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Wegesin throws a half hearted mid kick. Wegesin tries to clinch there but Stahl circles away.
Wegesin looks to clinch and Stahl cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Wegesin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Stahl tests Wegesin's chin there with a solid looking shot. Stahl waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Wegesin. Stahl avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A big left from Wegesin misses. Stahl dips to his left and cracks Wegesin with an uppercut! Wegesin clinches but Stahl breaks the clinch and Stahl scores with a counter punch that sends Wegesin to the canvas! Stahl smells blood - he's punishing Wegesin with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Wegesin has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
