Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Render (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Flick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phil Flick will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil Flick! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flick lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Render tries to score a power double leg takedown but Flick sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Render somewhat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Render. Flick lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
It looks like Matthew Render has been cut. Flick getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Flick lands an overhand right. Flick has managed to clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Render lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Render scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Flick is looking to escape. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Flick can do anything to dispel that myth. Flick blocking the ground and pound attempt from Render. Render thows a huge punch but Flick dodges it nicely.
Render looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Flick with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Render missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Render missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
