Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Tenney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Saburo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Tenney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Saburo! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tenney is looking to clinch but Saburo is avoiding it.
Saburo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tenney as he jumps to the side. Saburo fails to land the takedown. Saburo tries to land a front kick but Tenney steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Saburo shoots in looking for a takedown. Tenney tries to sprawl out of it but Saburo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tenney manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. James Tenney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Saburo. Saburo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tenney. That did some damage! Saburo shoots for a double leg takedown but Tenney sprawls well. He's pushed Saburo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nice body kick from Saburo. Saburo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tenney is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Tenney moves into the clinch successfully.

Tenney stuffs the takedown attempt from Saburo. Saburo gets slowly back to his feet. Tenney closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tenney lands in his opponent's guard. Tenney would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tenney gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Saburo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tenney avoids it really well and circles away. Saburo takes the fight into the clinch. Tenney tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Saburo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Tenney avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Tenney fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Tenney drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Saburo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Saburo is trying to break free. Saburo tries to land knees in the clinch but Tenney avoids the damage to the body. Saburo tries to score a body lock takedown but Tenney shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tenney jumps guard but Saburo stands there with Tenney around his waist. Tenney gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Saburo has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Tenney trying to land knees to the body.

Saburo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Saburo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tenney cracks Saburo with a nice body shot. Tenney lands a shoulder strike. Tenney throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Saburo blocks it with crossed arms. Knees in the clinch landing for Tenney.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Saburo looking to pass the guard. Tenney wants to stand but Saburo is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Saburo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tenney is fending him off so far but Saburo persists. Nope, Tenney circles away and we're back to standing. Saburo wants to slow Tenney down by chopping away at his legs. Saburo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tenney misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Saburo tries for a takedown but Tenney circles away easily and Tenney counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Tenney wants to stand but Saburo has a closed guard, so he can't escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Saburo darts in and clinches Tenney up against the cage. Tenney prevents Saburo from breaking the clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Tenney. Saburo looking for a takedown. Tenney pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tenney lands a jab to the nose. Tenney moves in looking to clinch but Saburo pushes him off. Saburo misses with the combination.
Saburo fails with the takedown and Tenney counters with a nice double leg into guard. Tenney has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Saburo is proving hard to escape from. Tenney knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saburo on the ground. Tenney stands up from Saburo's guard - Tenney perhaps looking for a knockout. Tenney moves into the clinch successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saburo is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tenney gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. James Tenney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Saburo. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tenney breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Both fighters circling a little - Saburo finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Tenney is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Saburo tries to land a front kick but Tenney steps back. Saburo is working an open guard so Tenney takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Tenney changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Tenney shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Tenney wants to stand up but Saburo is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saburo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tenney is working away from the top position though. It looks like Tenney is going to stand back up.
Saburo flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tenney clinches but Saburo breaks the clinch and Saburo counters with a head kick. That will keep Tenney thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! James Tenney is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Saburo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Saburo lands in his opponent's guard. Saburo stops Tenney from standing up. Saburo trying to control the position from guard on top but Tenney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tenney wants to get back to his feet but Saburo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

James Tenney dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Tenney clinches but Saburo breaks the clinch and Saburo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tenney! Tenney is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Saburo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Tenney really wants to buck Saburo off and get back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tenney blocking the ground and pound. Tenney is trying to stand up. Saburo wants to control the pace but Tenney is squirming around nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Saburo throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Tenney because Saburo loaded up on that one. Tenney blocking the ground and pound. Tenney wants to try and get back to his feet. Saburo wants to control the pace but Tenney is squirming around nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saburo landing strikes, looking to finish! Saburo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Saburo trying to control but Tenney is having none of it. Tenney wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Saburo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Tenney wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Saburo.

And that's the end of the fight! Adam Saburo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tenney has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
