Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Luimes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saikosis Killzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Richard Luimes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Saikosis Killzie!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Luimes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Killzie manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Luimes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Luimes drops back looking for a leg! Killzie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Killzie manages to kick Luimes off! Luimes jumps back into Killzie's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Killzie can do anything to dispel that myth.

Luimes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Killzie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Luimes has Killzie in his guard.

Luimes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Killzie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Killzie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Horrible takedown by Luimes or perhaps it was just good defense by Killzie which made him look bad.

Richard Luimes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Luimes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Luimes lands in his opponent's guard.

Luimes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Luimes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Luimes drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Killzie dives on top into guard.
Killzie is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Killzie must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Killzie's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Killzie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Luimes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Saikosis Killzie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Killzie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Killzie throws a hook to the side of Luimes's head but Luimes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Luimes goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Killzie has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Luimes but great work by Killzie.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Luimes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Luimes goes for a takedown attempt but Killzie pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

I think Killzie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
