Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Antoine Doinel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Friedrich Hayek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doinel's entrance music is Generique Et Car De Police. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hayek misses with an uppercut. Hayek throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Doinel stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Hayek throws a leg kick but Doinel moved away. Hayek moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Doinel slips under a jab. Hayek lands with an uppercut that bounces Doinel off the cage and back into rage. Hayek fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Doinel on the side of the head. Hayek throws a lazy right hand but Doinel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Doinel fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hayek sprawls well initially but Doinel persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Doinel prevents Hayek from improving his position. Hayek really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Doinel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Doinel passes the guard and advances to mount! Hayek is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hayek in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Hayek is trying to escape the mount but Doinel keeps good control and instead manages to take Hayek's back.
This has been an exciting period of action! Hayek tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Hayek is desperately trying to improve his position but Doinel has a good base and remains in mount. Doinel in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Hayek sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Doinel frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hayek is in all sorts of trouble here.
Doinel postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hayek looks a forlorn figure.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hayek can do anything to dispel that myth. Hayek is trying desperately to improve position. Doinel is in the full mount, landing strikes. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Doinel cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hayek is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hayek gets back to half guard. Doinel lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Hayek is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hayek is pressing down on Doinel's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Doinel is looking to work some ground and pound but Hayek has wrist control. Doinel postures up.
Doinel postures up and lands a big shot to Hayek's brow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Doinel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hayek is keeping the position for now.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hayek gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Doinel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Doinel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hayek. Excellent takedown into side control there by Doinel. Doinel working away. Doinel looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hayek tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Doinel wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Doinel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Doinel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Doinel is breathing heavily. Doinel working away. Doinel tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hayek managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Doinel.
Doinel advances nicely into full mount. Hayek is wriggling around trying to escape.

Doinel takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Hayek tries to get to full guard but Doinel has control of the leg. Hayek trying to control but Doinel postures up.

Doinel wants to pass the guard but Hayek is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Doinel lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hayek misses with a straight left. Doinel slips under a jab. A big right from Hayek misses. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Doinel fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hayek sprawls well initially but Doinel persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Hayek is looking for a sweep. Doinel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hayek is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Doinel scores with a couple of nice shots. Doinel lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Doinel frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hayek is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antoine Doinel dominated that round. That's time! Doinel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Doinel swings for the body but Hayek moves out of range.
Hayek wants to slow Doinel down by chopping away at his legs. Hayek throws a leg kick but Doinel checks it. Doinel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hayek.
Hayek thows a body shot but no joy. Hayek moves out of range of the strikes. Doinel staying out of range there. Doinel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Doinel tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hayek's legs. Doinel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hayek, who protects the arm well. Hayek tries to improve position but can't. Hayek is working to avoid the ground and pound but Doinel connects with a decent elbow. Hayek is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Doinel is working Hayek over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hayek wants to control but Doinel postures up. Hayek is looking for a sweep. Hayek is breathing heavily. Hayek is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Doinel lands some shots froms side control. Doinel is trying to get an arm triangle but Hayek is defending well. Doinel blocks the strikes from Hayek.
Hayek is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Doinel's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Hayek is trying to stand up here but Doinel is controlling him well. Antoine Doinel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hayek has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Doinel is working away from the top position though. Doinel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Doinel has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hayek's face.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Doinel wants to finish this one by submission but Hayek is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Doinel. Doinel lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Hayek tries to hold on but Doinel pushes him away. Hayek working to try and regain half guard.
Hayek is in a horrible position here. Doinel smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Doinel landing strikes from the mount. Hayek is looking to improve his position but Doinel isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Doinel lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Doinel looking for a guillotine from mount but Hayek is having none of it. Hayek is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Doinel locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Hayek is forced to tap!
