Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenshin Maeda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lee Wong! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maeda tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Maeda throws a nice inside leg kick. Maeda throws a head kick that misses. Wong tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Maeda swats away the attempt to clinch by Wong. The fight stays on the outside here - Wong looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Wong tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wong tries to clinch there but Maeda circles away.

Wong tries to clinch up but Maeda circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maeda swats away the attempt to clinch by Wong. Wong tries to close the distance and clinch but Maeda swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Maeda clinches. Maeda manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Wong tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Wong fails to pull guard.
Maeda is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Wong is keeping busy. Maeda escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Maeda pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A nice combination there by Maeda.
Wong tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Maeda counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Wong is lucky that one didn't land flush.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maeda feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Maeda is looking to stand up but Wong won't let him. Wong has an active guard here but Maeda has managed to pass into half guard.
Maeda is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wong is trying to keep Maeda in close.
Maeda wants to get up but he can't break Wong's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Wong not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wong is striking but Maeda is not phased and passes to half guard. Wong has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Maeda escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Maeda! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Maeda working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wong tries to clinch and Maeda counters with a head kick. That will keep Wong thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Wong tries to clinch but Maeda moves away and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Maeda lands with a slapping head kick. Wong tries to clinch up and Maeda counters with a right hand to the body. Wong darts in trying to clinch and Maeda counters with a nice leg kick. Wong tries to clinch up and Maeda counters with a body kick that stops Wong in his tracks momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wong darts in trying to clinch and Maeda counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Maeda stops Wong from getting back to his feet.
Maeda decides to return to a standing position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Maeda throws a low kick but it's checked well by Wong. Wong closes the distance looking to clinch and Maeda counters with a straight right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maeda tries to keep at a distance but Wong has taken the fight into the clinch. Wong dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Maeda is looking to break free of the clinch but Wong has double underhooks. Wong prevents Maeda from breaking the clinch. Wong is stalling here.
Maeda has had enough of the clinch but Wong keeps him there for the moment. Maeda tries to break free but Wong pushes him back against the cage. Wong displaying some good clinch control by pressing Maeda up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wong receives a warning from the referee for stalling. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Lee Wong. Wong tries to clinch but fails miserably and Maeda counters with a head kick. That will keep Wong thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Wong tries to clinch and Maeda counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Wong is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Wong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wong keeping moving, preventing Maeda from controlling successfully. Wong pushes Maeda off and scrambles back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenshin Maeda dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Wong darts in trying to clinch and Maeda holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Wong leaning his opponent against the cage. Wong manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Maeda trying to control the position from guard on top but Wong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wong working for submissions but it's allowed Maeda to get to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wong is refusing to be controlled, as Maeda sits in half guard. Maeda passes into side control, despite Wong's attempt to control the position.
Wong is trying to buck Maeda off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Wong is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Maeda off and has taken his back! Wong wants to control but Maeda is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wong thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Maeda trying to control the hands but Wong breaks the grip. Wong working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Wong looking for the choke but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wong throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Lee Wong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Maeda has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
