Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hiro Iwasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ko Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Iwasaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ko Maeda! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maeda tries to clinch there but Iwasaki circles away.
Maeda tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Maeda throws a body kick that misses. Iwasaki throws a hook but Maeda blocks it. Maeda looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Maeda doesn't manage to clinch there - Iwasaki circles away.
Iwasaki looks to land a combination but Maeda avoids it well. Maeda wants to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horrible takedown by Maeda or perhaps it was just good defense by Iwasaki which made him look bad.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maeda fakes the leg kick and cracks Iwasaki in the body. Iwasaki misses with a series of wild punches.

A big left from Iwasaki misses. Maeda slips a jab and a cross from Iwasaki.
Iwasaki takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Maeda lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Iwasaki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Iwasaki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maeda circles away quickly and effectively. Iwasaki misses with a few strikes there.
Iwasaki sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Maeda lands a head kick. Iwasaki smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Maeda avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maeda misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Iwasaki misses with a leg kick and Maeda counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Iwasaki is lucky that one didn't land flush. Maeda fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Iwasaki manages to avoid it. Iwasaki thows a left - swing and a miss! Maeda misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Maeda lands a lovely overhand right. Iwasaki misses with a hook to the body
and Maeda counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Maeda lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Maeda keeps Iwasaki at a distance using the push kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Maeda lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Iwasaki circles away quickly and effectively. Iwasaki throws an overhand right that lands on Maeda's shoulder, as Maeda tries to avoid the shot. and Maeda finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. A head kick misses from Maeda. Maeda misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Maeda counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Maeda misses with the combination.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ko Maeda dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Iwasaki fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maeda, pushing him back against the cage. Maeda looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Maeda has had enough of the clinch but Iwasaki keeps him there for the moment. Iwasaki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Iwasaki fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Maeda counters with a flying knee. Nice. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Iwasaki's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Iwasaki duly obliges. Maeda throws a wild body kick that Iwasaki sees coming a mile off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Iwasaki keeps the fight on the outside. Maeda tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Iwasaki paws at him with a jab and circles away. Iwasaki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jab by Maeda. Maeda misses with a looping left. Maeda displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Iwasaki. Maeda looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Maeda is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Some wild striking there from Iwasaki.

and Maeda counters with a good low kick that Iwasaki was not able to check. Maeda shoots in for a double leg but Iwasaki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Iwasaki throws a combination that misses and Maeda counters with a nice kick to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maeda pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Iwasaki misses with a body shot.
Iwasaki throws a left and a right that both miss
and Maeda counters with a good, hard body kick but Iwasaki shrugs it off. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Maeda. Maeda drops his hands momentarily and Iwasaki takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. A punch combination from Iwasaki misses. Iwasaki lands with a cross. Maeda avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Iwasaki misses with a wild body shot. Iwasaki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maeda moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Iwasaki throws a left and a right that both miss
and Maeda counters with an outside leg kick.
Iwasaki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maeda moves away. Iwasaki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maeda's waist but Maeda gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Iwasaki off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hiro Iwasaki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Iwasaki moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Iwasaki fails with the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hiro Iwasaki dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Iwasaki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maeda tries to avoid it but Iwasaki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maeda to the ground. Maeda escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hiro Iwasaki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Iwasaki throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Maeda lands with a nice body kick. Iwasaki fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Iwasaki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maeda was well out of range. Poor timing from Iwasaki. Iwasaki throws a combination. Maeda tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. No joy there for Iwasaki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Maeda fakes the leg kick and cracks Iwasaki in the body. Iwasaki throws a series of strikes that have Maeda backpedaling.
A nice inside leg kick there by Maeda. That's going to slow Iwasaki down. Iwasaki throws a series of punches but Maeda moves out of range. Maeda has a takedown stuffed. Iwasaki closes the distance and clinches up with Maeda, looking for a takedown. Iwasaki pushes Maeda against the cage but Maeda circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hiro Iwasaki. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hiro Iwasaki is winning the standup battle so far. Iwasaki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maeda circles away quickly and effectively. Iwasaki is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Maeda. Iwasaki tries to bum rush Maeda with a series of wild strikes but Maeda uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that's the end of the fight! Hiro Iwasaki showed his dominance in that final round. Well Iwasaki has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
