Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda tries to clinch there but Iwasaki circles away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Maeda lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Iwasaki circles away quickly and effectively.

and Maeda counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Iwasaki fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maeda, pushing him back against the cage.
Maeda looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Maeda has had enough of the clinch but Iwasaki keeps him there for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Maeda counters with a good, hard body kick but Iwasaki shrugs it off.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Maeda.
Maeda drops his hands momentarily and Iwasaki takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Maeda avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Iwasaki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maeda moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Iwasaki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maeda moves away.
Iwasaki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maeda's waist but Maeda gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Iwasaki off to one side.

Iwasaki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maeda was well out of range. Poor timing from Iwasaki.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
No joy there for Iwasaki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
