PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tebogo Mosegi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makebono Bowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Tebogo Mosegi has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Tebogo Mosegi seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tebogo Mosegi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Makebono Bowen!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Bowen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mosegi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mosegi lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Bowen is trying to stand up here but Mosegi is controlling him well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bowen can do anything to dispel that myth.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mosegi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bowen swivels and escapes.

Mosegi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bowen to the mat! Bowen manages to get full guard.
Mosegi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mosegi stays in close to Bowen's body and controls the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Bowen wants to stand and escape but Mosegi is having none of it.
Mosegi postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Mosegi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bowen is looking to stand up but Mosegi isn't so interested in that idea.
Mosegi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bowen's head.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bowen tries to bum rush Mosegi with a series of wild strikes but Mosegi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mosegi is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Bowen's shoulder. That is not cool.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mosegi content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Mosegi scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Mosegi works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mosegi could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mosegi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bowen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mosegi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee warns Bowen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mosegi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Mosegi feints and as Bowen raises his hands in defense, Mosegi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Makebono Bowen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mosegi works to advance to full mount. Bowen defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mosegi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
