Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe FC! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bear Dog! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by FC. FC stands up. Dog shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Dog wants to pass the guard but FC is defending well. FC makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Dog shoots in and bounces FC off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Dog sitting in guard here, content to control. FC bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dog's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dog trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. FC trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. FC gets to his feet. Dog looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! FC swats away the attempt to clinch by Dog. Dog with a lazy takedown attempt and FC counters with a one-two to the body. FC lands a jab-cross combination. FC bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Dog misses with a takedown attempt and FC counters by moving into the clinch. Dog looks gassed! Dog blocks an elbow strike from FC.
FC wants a takedown.
Dog stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dog has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. FC avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Joe FC has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bear Dog. FC scores with a knee to the head.
FC breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. FC throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Dog misses with a takedown attempt and FC counters by clinching up. FC breaks from the clinch.
Dog gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows FC to score an easy takedown into full guard. FC loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dog is on top in guard.
FC will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! FC keeping moving, preventing Dog from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dog controls from within his opponent's guard. FC is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. FC thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. FC is looking to stand up but Dog isn't so interested in that idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dog gets to his feet. FC looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dog shoots and misses and FC counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by FC. FC breaks from the clinch.
Dog shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches FC napping and manages to drive through into side control! FC is looking to regain half guard here but Dog keeps moving and retains side control. Dog wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by FC, who protects the arm well. Dog has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dog misses with a takedown and FC counters with a flying knee. Nice. FC throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dog. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe FC dominated that round. That's time! FC's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

FC wants to clinch. Dog drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. FC is looking to reverse the position. Dog looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. FC is trying to buck Dog off. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. FC tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dog wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dog decides to take the fight back to the feet. Dog swinging wilding here.
FC thuds a left hand into Dog's body. Dog fails with the takedown and FC counters with a leg kick. Dog shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. FC manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. FC has his feet on Dog's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. FC decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. FC stops Dog from getting back to his feet.
FC is trying to control the action in half guard but Dog is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. FC seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Dog taking some punishment here, with FC in his half guard. FC thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Dog to regain full guard. Dog working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. FC doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. FC manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Dog looking for a sweep. Not yet Dog, not yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dog managing to control the position. FC lands a couple of elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. FC trying to control the position from guard on top but Dog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dog is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. FC drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and FC jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dog trying to keep a closed guard but FC is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. FC stands up from Dog's guard - FC perhaps looking for a knockout. Joe FC is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. FC tries to clinch but Dog moves out of range. Dog circles away from the clinch attempt and Dog counters with a takedown into side control. Dog has worked his way into a potential kimura here. FC is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Dog yanks on the arm and FC is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Dog.
