Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Blitzkrieg Friedhelm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JB Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Friedhelm comes to the cage accompanied by "Du Hast" by Rammstein. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens shoots in for a double leg but Friedhelm sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Friedhelm feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Stevens sprawling to the canvas! Stevens rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Friedhelm finish him?!
Stevens is rocked!
It looks like JB Stevens has been cut.

Stevens is still on wobbly legs! Can Friedhelm finish him?
Stevens bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Stevens is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Friedhelm has escaped the position, nice work there.
Stevens working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Stevens seems to have recovered his senses.
Stevens tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Stevens throws a strike aimed at the side of Friedhelm's head but Friedhelm avoids it well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Friedhelm connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Stevens feints and as Friedhelm raises his hands in defense, Stevens changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stevens missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Stevens postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Friedhelm is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stevens, into his guard.
Friedhelm wants to control from the top but Stevens keeps moving.
Friedhelm is in close to Stevens's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Friedhelm throwing strikes from guard but Stevens blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Friedhelm trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Friedhelm wants to get up but he can't break Stevens's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Friedhelm got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stevens has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Friedhelm has managed to get both his arms back between Stevens's legs - danger averted.
Friedhelm decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Stevens, up you get!
Stevens fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Stevens looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Stevens shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Friedhelm is trying to defend but Stevens finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Friedhelm makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Friedhelm.

Stevens trying to control the position from guard on top but Friedhelm is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stevens throws a strike but Friedhelm rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Friedhelm wants to pass the guard but Stevens is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Friedhelm wants to stand but Stevens has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Stevens trying to keep a closed guard but Friedhelm is proving a slippery customer.
Friedhelm would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Friedhelm has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stevens is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Friedhelm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stevens works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Friedhelm stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Friedhelm wants it to stay on the feet.
Blitzkrieg Friedhelm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JB Stevens.
Stevens shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Friedhelm defends it nicely.
Friedhelm misses with a few strikes there.
Friedhelm misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Friedhelm slaps away a takedown attempt from Stevens, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A combination from Friedhelm does no damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
