PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Tweet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fist Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fighter has chosen Primo Victoria, by Sabaton as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Anthony Tweet had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fist Fighter!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tweet swings for the body but Fighter moves out of range.
Tweet scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Tweet slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Tweet slips a jab and a cross from Fighter.
Fighter scores with a jab to the body.
Fighter throws a series of punches but Tweet moves out of range.
Fighter misses with a two punch combination.
A nice combination there by Tweet.
Tweet misses with an uppercut.
Tweet throws a left and a right that both miss
and Fighter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Tweet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tweet misses the jab.

Fighter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Tweet throws a shot to the body.
Tweet misses with a combination
and Fighter counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Tweet tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fighter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tweet somewhat.
Tweet thows a body shot but no joy.
Fighter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Fighter swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tweet takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Tweet fails with a takedown attempt.
Tweet pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Fighter throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tweet lands a jab to Fighter's midsection.
Fist Fighter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tweet looks to land a body kick but Fighter moved away.
Fighter throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tweet looks to throw the jab but Fighter is out of range.

Fighter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tweet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Tweet. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tweet looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tweet jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Tweet blocks a jab.
Tweet lands a nice shot to the body.
Fighter throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A big right from Tweet misses.
Tweet shoots in looking for a takedown. Fighter tries to sprawl out of it but Tweet keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fighter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fighter throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tweet counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Fighter misses the shot to the body.
Fighter misses with a double jab
letting Tweet counter with a right hand.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Tweet lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Fighter has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Fighter and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Tweet walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Tweet misses with a hook.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fighter looks to score with a jab to the body but Tweet is just out of range.
Tweet cracks Fighter with an open hand slap.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Anthony Tweet will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Fighter has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Fighter there as he acknowledges the shot.
Tweet shoots in looking for a takedown. Fighter tries to sprawl out of it but Tweet keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fighter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fighter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tweet moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tweet misses with a shot to the body
and Tweet takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like Anthony Tweet has been cut.
Fighter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Tweet counters by clinching up.
Tweet tries to pull guard but Fighter holds him up against the cage and eventually Tweet drops back down to his feet.
Fighter is trying to break free.

Tweet works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Tweet throwing strikes from guard but Fighter blocks nicely.
Tweet stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fighter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tweet trying to control but Fighter is working from the bottom.
Tweet looking to sit in guard and control but Fighter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Fighter wants to stand but Tweet is controlling his posture from full guard.
Fighter trying to control the position from guard on top but Tweet is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Tweet escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fighter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fighter content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Tweet has locked up a guillotine! Tweet's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Fighter is holding on here and Tweet must be using up a lot of energy. Fighter has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Tweet gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Anthony Tweet!
Anthony Tweet retains his light heavyweight title!
