Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Segal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Arias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arias has chosen Don Omar - Conteo as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Segal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Arias! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Segal gets the takedown into side control. Arias tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Segal presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Arias gets back to half guard. Segal is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Arias is just riding it out for now. Segal eventually gives up the hold. Arias is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Segal pulls his head out easily. Segal trying to pass the guard but Arias defending well. Segal is keen to just control but Arias is a slippery customer. Segal controlling the action here. Segal prevents Arias from improving his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Segal tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Arias. Segal is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Arias doesn't manage to clinch there - Segal circles away.
Segal keeps the fight on the outside. Segal fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Arias clinches. Segal prevents Arias from breaking the clinch. Segal misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Arias stalls. A head punch blocked on the inside by Segal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Segal is trying to break free. Arias throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Segal lands an elbow that stopped Arias in his tracks for a moment. Arias swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Segal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Arias is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Arias fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Arias looks gassed! Segal is looking to slow Arias down with leg kicks. Segal throws a series of punches but Arias avoids them all with ease. Arias blocks a head kick by Segal.
The fight stays on the outside here - Segal looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Segal throws a leg kick which misses Arias's front leg but catches the back leg as Arias tries to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Segal shoots in looking for a takedown. Arias tries to sprawl out of it but Segal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Arias manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Segal wants to clinch. Nice sprawl there from Arias as Segal shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Segal. That's going to take a lot out of him. Segal shoots in looking for a takedown. Arias tries to sprawl out of it but Segal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Arias manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Segal throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Arias's waist but Arias gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Segal off to one side. Arias tries to clinch but fails miserably and Segal counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Segal. Segal gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Segal with a lazy takedown attempt and Arias counters with a three punch combo that has Segal backing up. Segal nods at Arias to acknowledge the strikes. Segal clinches up against the cage. Segal breaks from the clinch.
Segal shoots in for a double leg but Arias sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Segal throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Arias.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Segal has his takedown stuffed and Arias counters with a nice body shot. Segal takes the fight into the clinch. Segal is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Arias gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Segal manages to break the clinch.

Nice sprawl there from Arias as Segal shoots in. Segal moves in looking to clinch but Arias pushes him off. Arias tries to clinch up but Segal circles away and keeps his distance. Segal shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Arias counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Segal! Poor strikes thrown by Arias there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Arias cracks Segal with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Arias lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Segal hang on? Arias landing strikes from the mount and Segal is in trouble! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Segal will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Arias fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Segal shoots in but Arias avoids the takedown attempt easily. Arias misses with a jab, cross combination.
Daniel Segal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Arias tries to close the distance and clinch up but Segal swats him away and circles back towards the center. Segal takes one to the chin there. Arias throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Segal. Segal gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Segal manages to break the clinch.
Segal looks for a takedown but Arias sprawls well. Segal darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Arias is staying active underneath Segal, who seems content to just control the action from this position. David Arias has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arias slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Arias is breathing heavily. Arias throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Segal escapes and throws Arias's legs to the side, diving into side control! Segal is chipping away with strikes.
Segal moves into full mount! Arias has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Arias sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Segal uses his free foot to push down on Arias's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Arias. Segal has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Arias's face.
Segal is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Arias has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Segal avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Segal jumps into guard, dragging Arias to the mat.
Arias is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Arias postures up and lands a big shot to Segal's brow. Arias trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Arias lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Arias wants to pass the guard but Segal is keeping the position. But Arias has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Arias! Segal is pulling down on Arias's head to control his posture. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Segal wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Segal dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

And that's the end of the fight! David Arias comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Segal has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
