Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Roberts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Jones! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roberts throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Roberts looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Roberts throws a leg kick that misses. Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Roberts. Roberts shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jones gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Roberts gets control of Jones's arms and successfully pulls guard. Roberts will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Jones gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Matt Roberts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roberts shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Roberts.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head. Jones is trying to control but can't.
Roberts wants to advance to full mount but Jones doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Roberts trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jones fails in his attempt to clinch. Roberts closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Roberts. That's going to take a lot out of him. Roberts darts in trying to clinch and Jones counters by clinching up. Roberts tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage. Roberts works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Roberts. Jones wants to sweep but no luck. Jones keeping moving, preventing Roberts from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roberts is breathing heavily. Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy. Roberts has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Roberts is stalling in the full guard. Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Jones takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Roberts tries for a takedown but Jones circles away easily and Jones counters by moving into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Jones is trying to stall.
Roberts tries to pull guard but Jones won't allow it.
Roberts throws a knee to the head but misses.
Jones successfully pulls guard.
Roberts trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Roberts's guard. Roberts not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Matt Roberts will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Roberts wants to clinch but Jones slips to the side and Jones counters with a right hand to the body. Roberts tries to clinch but Jones moves away and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Roberts's guard now. Roberts keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Roberts is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jones slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Roberts. Roberts is not content to let Jones control the position. Jones wants to pass the guard but Roberts is defending well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Jones scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Roberts?
Roberts is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Roberts is wriggling around trying to escape.
Roberts bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Jones trying to control the position.
Roberts pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roberts missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Roberts won't allow Jones to sweep him here. Roberts sitting in guard here, content to control. Roberts works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard. Jones managing to control the position. Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roberts forces his way into half guard. Roberts lands with a punch from half guard. Roberts tries to stand and escape but Jones is controlling the position. Jones looking for submissions off his back. Jones is not content to let Roberts control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Roberts seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Jones is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
