Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steissi Mave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ash Ketchup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ash Ketchup has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steissi Mave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ash Ketchup!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ketchup gets caught flat footed, as Mave shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ketchup is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mave throws a strike but Ketchup rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Ketchup preventing the sweep.
Ketchup pushing down on Mave's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Ketchup seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mave does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Mave has a hand on Ketchup's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Ketchup takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

I really don't envy Mave right now.
Mave might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ketchup has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mave's body.
Mave rolls, trying to escape but Ketchup keeps control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ketchup is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ketchup controlling well, preventing Mave from escaping the position.
Ketchup gets his hands free as Mave looks to control.

Mave prevents Ketchup from getting a body triangle.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mave turns into Ketchup and is now in his guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Steissi Mave will probably get the nod.

Ketchup is desperately trying to improve his position but Mave has a good base and remains in mount.

Ketchup trying to keep a closed guard but Mave is proving a slippery customer.

Ketchup utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mave postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Mave counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

so Mave counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Steissi Mave has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ash Ketchup.
Mave postures up in Ketchup's guard and throws a big left but Ketchup blocks it.
Ketchup is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Mave has a hand on Ketchup's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Ketchup takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Mave on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mave tries to get out of the position.
Ketchup can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mave is looking to escape.

Ketchup keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mave throws a hook to the side of Ketchup's head but Ketchup sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The fighters circling - Mave throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ketchup tries for a takedown but Mave sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Ketchup counters with a takedown into side control.
Mave is letting Ketchup control him for a moment.
Mave is looking for a sweep.

Ketchup decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mave to his feet.
Mave blocks a head kick by Ketchup.
Ketchup uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mave.

Mave throwing strikes but Ketchup manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Mave throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Mave is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
You can see the frustration on Mave's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mave is trying to work for a sweep but Ketchup has mounted him!
Mave is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ketchup trying to control but Mave is having none of it.
Mave regains half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mave wants to improve his position but Ketchup is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Steissi Mave will probably get the nod.

Mave ducks straight into an uppercut from Ketchup and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Mave maanges to regain guard straight away.


It looks like Steissi Mave has been cut.
Ketchup trying to control but Mave is working from the bottom.
Mave looking for a sweep. Not yet Mave, not yet.
Ketchup pushes down on Mave's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Ketchup slows the pace down in half guard.
Ketchup has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Ketchup works his way to his opponent's back.
Ketchup struggling to keep hold of the position.
Ketchup lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Ketchup.
Ketchup just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Ketchup has the hooks in. Mave is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Mave trying to control the position but Ketchup manages to sink in the hooks.

Let's hope that Ketchup has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
