And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Gammer as Smith shoots in.
Gammer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Smith is trying to defend but Gammer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gammer is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gammer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smith's head.
Gammer prevents Smith from improving his position.
Gammer throwing shots but Smith is blocking nicely.

Gammer tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Smith counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gammer won't be happy with that.

Gammer is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Gammer is breathing heavily.
Smith throws a strike aimed at the side of Gammer's head but Gammer avoids it well.
Gammer striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Gammer manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Gammer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gammer makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Gammer shoots and misses
and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Smith tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gammer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Smith wants to take a breather but Gammer is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith decides to stand up.
Smith has taken the fight to the clinch.

Gammer looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Gammer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith can't get the takedown.
Smith tries for a takedown. No joy.
Gammer has Smith pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Smith manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Gammer drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Smith gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Smith changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith drives through and clinches with Gammer against the cage.

and Smith counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Smith.
Smith manages to break the clinch.
Smith throws a series of punches but Gammer avoids them all with ease.
Gammer misses with a takedown attempt
and Smith counters with a series of strikes. Gammer will be more careful next time no doubt.
Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gammer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Gammer controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself.

Smith stays in close to Gammer's body and controls the position.
Gammer is working an open guard so Smith takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Matt Gammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gammer!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith lands with some strikes.
Smith in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Smith scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Smith lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gammer hang on?
Smith is landing with some decent strikes but Gammer is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Gammer swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
BOOM! Smith connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Gammer is rocked!

Oh Gammer is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith connects with a bit shot that sees Gammer covering up! More strikes from Smith and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Smith is our winner by TKO!
