The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera rushes Rua and presses him up against the cage.
Vera manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Rua passes Vera's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Vera wants to improve his position but Rua is controlling well.
Rua works his way into side control.
Rua tries to move into full mount but can't pass Vera's legs.
Rua is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Vera looks calm but he's in trouble here. Rua gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Vera is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Rua lets go of the hold and Vera can pop his arm back in it's socket.
