Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Stglitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manuel Caolho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stglitz comes to the cage accompanied by Godsmack Awake. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo Stglitz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Manuel Caolho!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caolho misses with a few strikes there.
Stglitz slips under a jab.
Caolho swinging wilding here.

Stglitz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Caolho swivels and escapes.
Stglitz is looking to land body kicks.
Stglitz slips a jab and a cross from Caolho.
Caolho throws a right hand that Stglitz ducks under and follows up with a left that Stglitz also avoids with ease.

Stglitz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Caolho's guard.

Stglitz wants to control from the top but Caolho keeps moving.
Stglitz won't allow Caolho to get back to his feet.

Stglitz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Caolho throws a nice looking combination but Stglitz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Caolho misses with a jab, cross combination.
Caolho just misses with a punch to the body.
A combination from Caolho does no damage.
Caolho throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Stglitz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Stglitz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Stglitz stands up and beckons Caolho to join him on the feet.
Stglitz throws a series of punches but Caolho avoids them all with ease.
Stglitz swings away with a body shot that misses
letting Caolho counter with a right hand.

Stglitz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Stglitz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Caolho did well to prevent Stglitz getting side control.
Stglitz works his way into side control.
Stglitz advances to full mount.
Caolho wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Stglitz.
Stglitz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Caolho is looking to escape.

Stglitz moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Caolho has worked his arm free - good work by Caolho!

Stglitz sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Caolho is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Stglitz working the ground and pound but Caolho is defending the strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stglitz is trying to get an arm triangle but Caolho is defending well.

Stglitz decides to stand back up. Stglitz steps back and let's Caolho get back to his feet.
Stglitz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stglitz goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Caolho turns into him and now he's in Stglitz's guard.

Caolho is looking to work some ground and pound but Stglitz has wrist control.

Caolho got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stglitz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Caolho has managed to get both his arms back between Stglitz's legs - danger averted.
Hugo Stglitz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Caolho thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Stglitz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Caolho can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stglitz wants to sweep but no luck.
Caolho trying to control the position from guard on top but Stglitz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Caolho is in close to Stglitz's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Stglitz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Stglitz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Caolho stacks Stglitz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Caolho!
Stglitz is trying to control Caolho's posture but Caolho avoids it.

Stglitz pushes Caolho away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Caolho gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Caolho decides to stand back up. Caolho steps back and let's Stglitz get back to his feet.

enabling Stglitz to counter with a crisp jab.

Stglitz throws a series of punches but Caolho moves out of range.
Caolho fails to land with a series of punches.

Caolho misses with a double jab.

Stglitz clinches up with Caolho and pushes him back against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Caolho's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Stglitz jumps into guard, dragging Caolho to the mat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stglitz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Stglitz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Caolho sees it coming and defends easily.
Stglitz tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Stglitz trying to control from half guard but Caolho is working away.
Stglitz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Caolho is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Stglitz takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Caolho tries to kick Stglitz off but Stglitz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Caolho keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Stglitz decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Caolho throws a combination that misses
and Stglitz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Stglitz works over Caolho's head and body with a nice combination.

Stglitz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Stglitz decides to stand back up.
Caolho throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stglitz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Caolho pinned against the cage. Caolho gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Stglitz counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Stglitz wants to take a breather but Caolho is having none of it.
Stglitz is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Hugo Stglitz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Stglitz wants to pass the guard but Caolho is defending well.
Caolho wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stglitz tries to pass to full mount but Caolho defends it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Stglitz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Manuel Caolho has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hugo Stglitz showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stglitz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
