Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Stanford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Razin Momin!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stanford sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Momin to the ground! Stanford dives into full mount looking to finish!


It looks like Razin Momin has been cut.
Stanford tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Momin is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Momin regains half guard.
Stanford wants to get back to his feet.
Momin is refusing to be controlled, as Stanford sits in half guard.
Stanford really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Momin tries to roll over but Stanford keeps him under control.
Momin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stanford's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stanford's back!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Momin is striking from the back but Stanford escapes and manages to recover to half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Stanford throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Momin's head.

Momin is rocked!
Stanford postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Momin is still in real trouble! Can Stanford finish him?

Stanford tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stanford has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Momin tries to buck Stanford off but Stanford is having none of it.

Momin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Stanford off and has taken his back!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Momin lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Stanford tries to escape the position.
Stanford wants to get back to his feet.
Well, with Momin on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Stanford is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Can Stanford hold on?! Momin is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stanford tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Stanford is wriggling around trying to escape.
Stanford tries to hold on but Momin pushes him away.
Stanford is breathing heavily.
The referee warns Stanford that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

You get the feeling that Stanford really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Momin landing strikes from the mount and Stanford is in trouble!

Momin working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Momin is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Stanford has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Stanford!

Momin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stanford's guard.

Stanford is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Momin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Momin lands a couple of digs.

Momin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Momin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Momin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Momin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stanford is looking to stand up but Momin isn't so interested in that idea.
Stanford is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian Stanford dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Razin Momin's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Momin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stanford is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Stanford manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stanford wants to stand but Momin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Momin wants to sweep here but Stanford controlling him for the moment.
Stanford wants to get up but he can't break Momin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Stanford lands with a right that hurts Momin. Momin looks to clinch but Stanford throws a short knee that drops Momin. This one is all over!
