Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stanley Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Rubber Chicken by Caspa. Paul has chosen Lick It Up as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Douglas shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paul's guard.
Douglas is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Douglas drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Paul dives on top into guard.
Douglas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Paul is one step ahead there.
Douglas is wriggling around but Paul manages to pass to half guard.
Paul thows a huge punch but Douglas dodges it nicely.
Douglas looks like he's trying to stand up.
Paul is looking to take a break and control but Douglas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Paul takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Paul not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Paul slips a nice elbow through Douglas's hands, connecting with Douglas's forehead.

Paul is trying to work for a kimura but Douglas is defending well.

Douglas is not content to let Paul control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Douglas is looking to escape.
Paul with the ground and pound but Douglas uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Paul trying to control the position from guard on top but Douglas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paul avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Paul chips away with some ground and pound.

Douglas has momentary wrist control but Paul slips an elbow through the middle.
Paul stops Douglas from standing up.
Paul looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Paul passes Douglas's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Paul working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Paul is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Douglas has hold of Paul's hands but Paul slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Paul throwing shots but Douglas is blocking nicely.
Douglas is looking to escape.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Paul looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stanley Paul dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Paul moves in looking to clinch but Douglas pushes him off.
Douglas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Douglas tries to clinch up but Paul circles away and keeps his distance.

Douglas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Paul manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Paul looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Paul lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Paul is stalling here. Douglas is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Paul seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Douglas has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Douglas prevents Paul from escaping the position.
Douglas advances to mount.
Paul sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Douglas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Paul sees it coming and defends easily.

Douglas seems to be working for a kimura but Paul defends the submission attempt.
Paul is pressing down on Douglas's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Douglas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Paul has his feet on Douglas's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
A clash of legs there as Douglas blocks the low kick.
Douglas with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Paul to score with a decent uppercut.
Paul uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Douglas has time to react.
Paul lands a hook that stumbles Douglas back into the cage. Paul follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Douglas to the canvas! Paul pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Douglas has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Stanley Paul!
