Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arnold Berto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smokey Falhurst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smokey Falhurst has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arnold Berto! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Smokey Falhurst! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Falhurst wants to clinch. Berto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Falhurst looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Falhurst tries to improve position but can't. Falhurst is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Berto is controlling him well. Berto stands up and we're back to a striking position. Berto doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. A head kick misses from Berto. Berto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Falhurst pinned against the cage. Falhurst gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Falhurst is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Falhurst looks to land a body kick but Berto moved away. Berto looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Falhurst with a lazy takedown attempt and Berto counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Falhurst looks gassed! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Berto wants to pass the guard but Falhurst is defending well. Berto seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Falhurst does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Berto drops an elbow to the side of Falhurst's head. Falhurst looks like he's trying to stand up.
Falhurst is controlling Berto's position as best he can from this difficult position. Berto works his way into full mount! Berto controlling his opponent. Falhurst is looking to improve his position but Berto isn't that keen on the idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Poor strikes thrown by Berto there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Falhurst keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Berto throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Falhurst manages to regain half guard. Good work. Berto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Falhurst connecting with a few gentle strikes. Falhurst trying to hold on to Berto's head to control him but Berto postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Berto is trying to control the action in half guard but Falhurst is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Falhurst wants to improve his position but Berto is controlling well.
Falhurst slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Falhurst wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Falhurst wants to sweep here but Berto controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Falhurst is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Berto slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Falhurst looking to hit a scissor sweep but Berto is one step ahead there. Falhurst is trying to control the position from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Berto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Falhurst as he jumps to the side. Berto misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arnold Berto. That's going to take a lot out of him. Falhurst shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Berto as he jumps to the side. Berto ducks right into an uppercut from Falhurst. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Arnold Berto dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Falhurst lands a jab to the nose. Falhurst on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Berto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Berto is figuring out what he wants to do next. Falhurst has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Berto is working away from the top position though. Falhurst is trying to control but Berto passes into side control!
Falhurst takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Falhurst is breathing heavily. Berto wants to control but Falhurst is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Falhurst looks to move to half guard but instead Berto has passed into mount! Damn! Berto lands a heavy elbow. Falhurst is squirming around, avoiding Berto's attempts to control the action. Berto controlling the position easily from mount. Falhurst is wriggling around trying to escape.
Berto sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Falhurst is just holding on here. Berto manages to take his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Berto softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Berto is not going to allow Falhurst to sit and survive in this position. Falhurst won't enjoy being in this position. Berto looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Falhurst is tapping - it's over boys! Berto picks up the submission victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Arnold Berto! Arnold Berto is the new lightweight champion!
