Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Renton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zig Ziggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renton comes to the cage accompanied by A Small Victory. Zig Ziggler has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Renton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zig Ziggler! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ziggler shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. The fight moves into the clinch position. Ziggler turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Ziggler in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Renton is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Ziggler off and has taken his back! Renton patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Ziggler wants to escape the position.
Renton has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ziggler has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Renton misses with an elbow to the head. Ziggler is trying to get back to his feet but Renton has full control of the position and if anything, Ziggler has just worked his way into a worse spot. Renton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Renton looking to break Ziggler's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Ziggler remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Renton will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
That's one minute gone in the round. Renton patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Ziggler is trying to get back to his feet but Renton has full control of the position and if anything, Ziggler has just worked his way into a worse spot. Renton is persistently looking for the submission but Ziggler is defending it well.
Ziggler looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Renton looking for the RNC. Renton is trying to stick to Ziggler's back but Ziggler is turning into Renton. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Renton's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Ziggler.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ziggler is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Renton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ziggler defends it easily. Renton is breathing heavily. Ziggler sitting in guard, not really doing much. Renton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Renton is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ziggler is aware though and is defending well. Ziggler is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Renton working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ziggler. Ziggler avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ziggler works over Renton with some ground and pound from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ziggler controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. I looks like Ziggler might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Renton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ziggler defends it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Zig Ziggler will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ziggler tries to close the distance and clinch but Renton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ziggler fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Renton wants to clinch up but Ziggler keeps it at a distance. Ziggler shoots in for a takedown but Renton shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ziggler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Renton was covering up waiting for the punch and Ziggler finishes the takedown easily into guard. Ziggler won't allow Renton to sweep him here. Renton looking for a triangle here. Ziggler is fighting it but it looks tight! Renton pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Ziggler is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Mark Renton!
