Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Steckel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paddy Furniture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jon Steckel has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jon Steckel seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Furniture looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Steckel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Furniture holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Furniture is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Steckel is keeping busy.
Furniture wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Steckel misses with a knee to the head.
Steckel tries for a takedown but Furniture manages to get underhooks.
Furniture prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Steckel. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Steckel jumps into guard, dragging Furniture to the mat.
Steckel trying to control the position.
Furniture has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Steckel is proving hard to escape from.
Steckel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Furniture is one step ahead there.
Furniture trying to control but Steckel is working from the bottom.

Steckel doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Furniture is fighting to break Steckel's control of his arms but Steckel is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Steckel is trying to keep Furniture in close.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Steckel has taken the fight to the clinch.
Furniture can't get the takedown.
Furniture wants to break free but Steckel has control.

Steckel manages to break the clinch.

Steckel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Steckel lands in his opponent's guard.
Steckel with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Steckel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Furniture trying to keep a closed guard but Steckel is proving a slippery customer.
Steckel tries to free his leg and advance position but Furniture is retaining full guard.
Furniture looking to hit a scissor sweep but Steckel is one step ahead there.
Furniture is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Steckel is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Furniture not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Furniture tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Furniture fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Furniture looks gassed!

Steckel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Steckel wants to control the pace but Furniture is squirming around nicely.

Furniture tries to reverse the position but Steckel maintains control.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Furniture trying desperately to get to his feet.
Furniture is trying to escape the mount.
Steckel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Steckel has control of Furniture's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Furniture regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Furniture sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Steckel is pressing down on Furniture's thigh, looking to free his foot. Furniture is holding on for now.
Steckel is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Steckel is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Furniture can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Steckel lands a nice shot to the head.

Furniture is rocked!

It looks like Paddy Furniture has been cut.
Steckel working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Furniture is still in real trouble! Can Steckel finish him?
Furniture tries to hold on but Steckel pushes him away.
Steckel lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The cut above Paddy Furniture's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee warns Furniture that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Paddy Furniture's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Steckel lands a big shot there that rocks Furniture but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Paddy Furniture's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
