Saint has chosen General Public - Tenderness as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Saint.
Saint misses with a low kick.

Elric closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Elric lands in his opponent's guard.
Saint utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Elric wants to pass the guard but Saint is keeping the position.
Elric postures up in Saint's guard and throws a big left but Saint blocks it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Elric pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Saint is keeping the position for now.
Elric in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Elric loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Saint really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Elric. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Saint lands a nice leg kick that just misses Elric's sensitive parts.
Elric will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Saint throws a nice head kick!
Saint pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Saint throws a sloppy head kick and Elric moves out of range easily.
Elric looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Saint is fending him off so far but Elric persists. Nope, Saint circles away and we're back to standing.
Elric shoots for a takedown but Saint saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Elric. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Elric closes the distance and clinches up with Saint, looking for a takedown. Elric pushes Saint against the cage but Saint circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Saint lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Tim Elric has been cut.
DaMarcus Saint is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Saint throws a leg kick which misses Elric's front leg but catches the back leg as Elric tries to avoid it.
Elric is breathing heavily.

Saint lands a big head kick that sends Elric tumbling to the mat! Saint takes a step backwards and waves Elric back to his feet - he wants the finish!
