Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ready Go (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Maia could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ready Go's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Maia! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ready Go! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maia tries to close the distance and clinch up but Go swats him away and circles back towards the center. Maia walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Go checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Go closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Go lands in his opponent's guard. Maia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Maia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Go trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Go trying to control but Maia is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maia looking for a sweep. Not yet Maia, not yet. Go is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Go throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maia trying to keep a closed guard but Go is proving a slippery customer.
Go is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Go throws a big right hand that misses. Go slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Go pushes down on Maia's leg and manages to get into half guard. Go has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Maia is trying to escape the mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Maia tries to buck Go off but he can't manage it. Maia can't escape the position.
Maia is trying to stand. Go is landing with some decent strikes but Maia is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Maia is looking to get to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Go landing strikes from the mount. Go pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Go lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Go controlling the position easily from mount. Go lands a big shot to the head and Maia winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Ready Go! Ready Go is the new welterweight champion!
