Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tajhon Blahs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cotton Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tajhon Blahs! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cotton Hill! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blahs misses with a body shot.
Blahs throws the kick towards the body but Hill avoids it. Blahs gets the takedown into side control. Blahs trying to control the action but Hill is working from the bottom. Blahs looks up at the clock and then as Hill takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Blahs smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hill is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Blahs is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Hill working to try and regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blahs looking to control but Hill is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Blahs lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Blahs fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Blahs postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hill looks a forlorn figure.

Blahs lands with some strikes. Blahs has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hill's face.
Hill wants to control but Blahs is having none of it. Hill throwing hammer fists to the chest of Blahs. What's that going to do exactly? Blahs connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Hill tries to lock up and control but Blahs gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Blahs pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Hill working to try and regain half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Blahs landing punches. Blahs tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hill is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Blahs working the ground and pound effectively.
Blahs avoids the attempt from Hill to control. Blahs lands a heavy elbow. Blahs can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hill is looking to escape.

Hill regains half guard. Hill on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Blahs is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Hill looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Blahs missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Hill has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Blahs escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Blahs! Hill looks gassed! Blahs working the body and head with strikes.

Blahs scores with a couple of short elbows. Blahs grinds an elbow into Hill's temple. Hill wants to control but Blahs postures up. Blahs trying to control the position but Hill is working away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hill is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Blahs's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Blahs closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hill to the mat! Hill manages to get full guard. Blahs pushes down on Hill's leg and manages to get into half guard. Hill wants to get back to full guard. Blahs is keen to just control but Hill is a slippery customer. Hill manages to get to full guard.
Tajhon Blahs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hill had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blahs defends it easily. Blahs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Blahs chips away with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hill working for a triangle but Blahs defends it easily.
Hill punching from the bottom - just letting Blahs know he's still in a fight. Hill has his foot on Blahs's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Blahs works his way back into a safe position though. Blahs is looking to work some ground and pound but Hill has wrist control. Blahs is working Hill over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Hill looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Blahs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hill swivels though and keeps the full guard. Blahs thows a big elbow that misses. Hill wants to sweep but no luck. Blahs controls from within his opponent's guard. Blahs trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hill throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hill is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hill blocks the body kick.
Blahs swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hill moves away from the strike by Blahs. Hill fails to land the takedown. Blahs changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hill looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Blahs decides to take the fight back to the feet. Hill fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Blahs misses with an uppercut. Nice uppercut there from Blahs. Hill tries to clinch up. Hill shoots in for a takedown but Blahs shows good takedown defense. Tajhon Blahs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cotton Hill.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hill gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Blahs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hill uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Blahs.
Blahs is looking to score with low kicks. Hill has his takedown stuffed and Blahs counters with a two punch combo. The fighters circle momentarily. Blahs darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Blahs is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hill's half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Blahs working Hill over with strikes. Hill is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Blahs scores with a couple of nice shots. Hill wants to get back to full guard. Blahs connects with a jab. Hill closes the distance but Blahs moves to the side and Blahs counters with a nice body kick.
Hill thows a body shot but no joy. Blahs fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hill manages to avoid it. Blahs connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hill. Hill circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Blahs swats away the attempt to clinch by Hill. Blahs misses with a straight left. Blahs shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Hill taking shots to the head. Hill tries to lock up and control but Blahs gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blahs can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Blahs lands a couple of decent looking shots. Blahs distracts Hill with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hill trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Blahs got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hill has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blahs has managed to get both his arms back between Hill's legs - danger averted. Blahs passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Blahs there. Blahs stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Hill to get to his feet. Blahs misses the jab. Blahs throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Blahs circles away from the clinch attempt and Blahs counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Blahs wants to pass to mount but Hill is defending the position. Hill is trying to control but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hill is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Blahs is staying active. Hill has hold of Blahs's hands but Blahs slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Blahs not landing any meaningful shots this time. Blahs tries to pass to full mount but Hill defends it. Hill looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Blahs sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Blahs scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hill doesn't seem bothered though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Blahs throws a head kick but Hill moves out of range.
Blahs moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Blahs is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hill can do to turn this around? Hill closes the distance and clinches. A right hook to the body lands for Blahs.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Blahs. Hill tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Blahs has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hill is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Nice elbow from Hill. Hill drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Blahs gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Tajhon Blahs clearly takes that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Blahs moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. A decent looking cross lands there for Hill. Hill throws a series of punches but Blahs avoids them all with ease. Blahs bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Hill tries to clinch up and Blahs connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Blahs shoots in and bounces Hill off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Hill working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blahs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Hill is tightening it up a little... Blahs has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Blahs reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Blahs taps out! nice BJJ there by Hill!
