Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Layfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Andrew Anderson enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Layfield! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Anderson! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Layfield feints and as Anderson raises his hands in defense, Layfield changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Anderson striking from his own guard. Layfield keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Anderson's head. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anderson can do anything to dispel that myth. Anderson working a defensive guard here.
Layfield trying to control but Anderson is working from the bottom. Layfield drops back looking for a leg! Anderson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Anderson manages to kick Layfield off! Layfield jumps back into Anderson's guard. Anderson wants to sweep but no luck. Anderson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Anderson trying to control the position here. Anderson tries to strike from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson keeping moving, preventing Layfield from controlling successfully.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Anderson takes the fight into the clinch. Anderson jumps guard and drags Layfield to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Anderson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Layfield is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Anderson. Anderson tries to strike but it doesn't land. Layfield is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Anderson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Layfield wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Anderson, who protects the arm well. Layfield is working Anderson over with some ground and pound from side control. Layfield scoring with punches and elbows. Anderson throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson tries to improve position but can't. Anderson struggling a bit here. Layfield controls the position. Anderson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Layfield controls the position. Anderson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Layfield wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Layfield moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Anderson is trying to improve his position. Layfield trying to control the action but Anderson is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson gets back to half guard. Layfield uses his free foot to push down on Anderson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Anderson. Layfield scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Anderson?
Anderson tries to lock up and control but Layfield gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Layfield tries to control but Anderson wriggling away. Layfield lands with some strikes. Anderson tries to improve his position but instead Layfield has taken his back! Anderson is taking damage to the body and head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Layfield scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson trying to control the hands but Layfield breaks the grip. Anderson looks gassed! Layfield working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Anderson is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Layfield has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Anderson taps out!
